Always assumed this was a tourist trap so this was our very first visit even though we are locals. We shared a bucket of crab, mussels and shrimp and we were pleasantly pleased. Service was decent from our waiter. The door "welcomers" are what we've always noticed walking by but the night we visited, they were very unfocused - they... More

Cracked Crab is known for their "Buckets" of seafood. So if you are passing thru get the bucket. If a local, do yourself a favor and get the fish tacos. Short of Mexico, the best fish tacos I've ever had.

Excellent menu, I ordered the steamed claims they were the best I've ever had and I had them from here to Boston. All of the food was great as was the service. We didn't have to wait but I recommend if you don't want to wait go early or not at pick busy times. Give it a try.

I waited 2 days to post this review so that would not do it out of sheer anger. We called the restaurant and discovered they did not take reservations. We arrived and were told an hour to an hour and 20 minute wait. There was a very long list (20 + names) but only 3-4 parties outside waiting. We waited... More

Read the favorable reviews, so decided to try the Cracked Crab for some fresh seafood. Went there for lunch, and mostly empty tables. My soft shell crab sandwich was so overlooked that it was a truly a "crispy critter." Sent it back to the kitchen and did get a replacement that wasn't so overdone. It was ok but tasted fishy,... Fresh & delicious! Cody was helpful with suggestions and checked on us often. We arrived around noon on a Wednesday after Christmas and walked right in.

Very good food, well priced for area. We waited 30 min but worth it. Kid friendly, kids menu too. Crab was good, crab cakes very good, fresh fish perfectly cooked. Good appetizers and great by-the-glass wine list. We are glad we stopped and would eat here again!

Clam chowder is great, creamy not gritty, flavorful with a nice mix of seafood and veggies. Fish and chips light and tender fish not too greasy. During cold weather ask for a table away from the door as you are blasted with cold air every time it opens. Wait staff friendly and attentive.

This place is the BEST and the reason we come to Pismo every chance we get. And we're from San Francisco! ;-)
