Chianti's is one of several Italian restaurants on Pleasanton's Main Street. I think it is one of the best. The food is very good though not 100% authentic. We had pasta on a recent visit and it was excellent with very flavorful (but not too) sauce. The salad with goat cheese and cranberries was very good though a bit heavy... More

Nothing to write home about. The food was just okay. My husband had spaghetti bolognese, which had way too much sauce. I had the Chilean sea bass special and I made the mistake of not asking for the price before ordering. It was definitely not worth the $40 that I was charged. The chicken parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs were... More

Came in Saturday night to a packed house. Now, I knew the manager before at Fontina. I thought he was fine. The rub I have is honesty. These Persian guys are passing themselves off as Italians....if they are Italiano then I'm a duck. So that doesn't bode well. Keep wishing. The service was good. The bread was dry and had... More

My $42 bass was raw and even cold in some places! Iced tea for wife never showed up on our table, but was on the receipt. My son's fettuccini Alfredo was as bland and toasted ouful. Even the espressos were in serious jeaprody. This restaurant should do humanity a favor and close its door ASAP!

Holidays these days are difficult. So few restaurants are open. We tried Chianto Reserve, and made a reservation. When we arrived the manager was about to show us a table (outside)(the temperature was about 45) I refused (although we had a definite reservation)he suggested the bar area (with high stools) I told him my partner was disabled and could not... We were there from out of town to have dinner and see the Christmas lights at night in Pleasanton. My wife and I were stuck in a dark corner. The server took our order, served our dinner and we never saw him during the meal. I stacked our plates into one pile on our table after dinner, which is something... More

We were visiting my daughter & son-in-law during the Thanksgiving Holiday. They hadn't try Chianti & wanted to this time. The food was just so so. I was So Disappointed in the Bolognese Sauce. It tasted like Rago "doctored up" with a slight sugary undertaste. The ravioli wasn't done like the "pillows" I am used to at other Italian eateries.... More

I met a friend here for dinner. She recommended the restaurant because it was one of her favorite places to eat. I understand why. We got the gnocchi with a red sauce. It was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful and the owner gave all of his guests a hug for coming in They have indoor and outdoor seating. I... More

My husband and I both had pasta dishes for entrees: I had the gnocchi in tomato cream sauce with shrimp and he had spaghetti carbonara. They were delicious, albeit blazing hot when they came to the table (I burned my tongue). The bread and herbed oil/water?/vinegar mixture that preceded the meal was odd, as if it didn't know quite what... More
