We were happy that the staff was able to work with us to alter one menu choice and the other was perfect, always ask! Noble Garden $11 - quinoa, farro, baby beets, avocado, mint, almonds, cucumber, tomato, lime vinaigre and a Malbec wine for $10 and I was good for the night. I am not a huge eater. All very... More

This restaurant is a Hidden Gem in the South Bay. It has delicious food, and on weekends a variety of live music is offered. Parking it's okay, you can also use the valet parking for the Portofino Hotel which is across the driveway from the restaurant. You get a beautiful Marine of you. It is moderate to high price, and... Baleens is remodeling, but service is at the Portofino Hotel across the parking lot. We ate breakfast in a lovely room with a nice ocean view. The American breakfast was ample and delicious. The berry bowl was also generous. Quiet and relaxed.

This is a lovely building and right next door to the hotel, so I had high hopes. I was, however, disappointed with the menu and the meals that we ordered took a long time and were not hot. How can this be when the place was empty? All in all, quite disappointing.

Have had breakfast here twice, lunch once, and happy hour. Both times breakfast was very good. I am picky about my poached eggs and they got it spot on both times. Lunch was a mixed affair as my wife's salad was flooded in dressing and we had to send it back, and my burger was medium not medium well (although... More

I dined here a few years ago when at the hotel across the street and remember it as good. It is still good but uneven. We had dinner here and had the place basically to ourselves. Drinks were good. A truffle fries appetizer was fine. My wife had the Brick Chicken and it was flavorful. I asked the server if... More

We dined here on Christmas day with the set menu and wine pairing for each course. At $88 per head it was not cheap. When we got to the 3rd course my husband had beef so he had red wine both my daughter and I had fish so we were given white. I tasted the wine and immediately thought it... More

My daughter and I came here to eat lunch before continuing on to Santa Monica. It was a great little hideaway, you need to go back to the hotel to find it. The food was very good. The truffle fries were AMAZING! AMAZING! We just ordered the tapas, but really enjoyed all of the ones we tried, the edamame, the... More

We enjoyed brunch at Baleen Kitchen on Christmas Eve. Fresh salmon, excellent Eggs Benedict. Service is very s-l-o-w so be prepared to wait for even a glass of water.

Food is good. Arrogance of staff is incredible. If you have a long time to wait, don't mind being treated like you're bothering them, then go ahead and eat. Otherwise, there are many other choices for beachside dining that are a better overall value.
