It had been many years since my last visit to Il Fornaio but I’m pleased to see the food quality has been maintained at a high level. Starting with the awesome bread, the other courses are fresh and super authentic.

My visit was a business/celebration lunch. The menu is in Italian, so my host did the explanations. The service is excellent and friendly. The servings are nice. Because it is fine dining, the prices are on the high end, but it was a very nice...More
The menu is delightful, the food scrumptious and the service is terrific! You won’t go wrong with any of their dishes.

This is a fantastic restaurant! If you're in the San Jose area, stop here for lunch or dinner. I was here for lunch and had the insalata di tonno; seared sushi-grade tuna served with arugula. Excellent!

Beautiful old room as is the hotel, went for dinner early on a Saturday Votka&tonic $14, glass of Chianti $14, Calamaretti ($19.25), scalops ($31.95), large portions, good food and service
I came here for lunch with a business associate. The service was good, as was the food. I had the tagliatelle with bolognese and my friend had the Caesar salad. The setting could not be better retaining the original art work of this historic hotel.
