A colleague took me to this restaurant for lunch as she claimed that the portions served for the lunch specials were enough for leftovers. The colleague was correct as the portions were big. The food was good, and inexpensive considering the large portions served & high quality of dishes. The staff is friendly & professional. There is free parking.

We live in the neighborhood and for way too long missed out on this place. It looks small from the outside, with limited parking, but that's deceiving. There is a parking lot in the back, and on street parking nearby. But enough about access -- let's talk food. SOOOOOOOO very good! The traditional Vietnamese noodle soups are highly recommended, and... More

I came to this place twice and that is it! The first experience was wonderful, the food was better than average; however, the service of my first visit was wonderful. Out waiter was very friendly and seemed to be happy to have us and to serve us. My second visit was a total contrast. My water glass was dirty with... More

I was walking home from work and decided to stop by for an impromptu dinner. The service was just exceptional. I had the Caramelized chicken and found the chicken a bit too sweet. Had a glass of Pinot noir, and it was a bit too pricy for $10 a glass. Service was just exceptional!

We have been coming to Vung Tau since the 90s. It never disappoints. Clay pot fish, tamarind shrimp, catfish with veggie broth, bamboo shoots with shrimp, spring rolls, egg rolls.. and more. Excellent. And going on Thanksgiving day guarantees a crowd -- and the staff handled the numbers with aplomb, and the kitchen was remarkable. If it is pho that... More

So many wonderful dishes, and fast and friendly service. The grilled onion beef rolls are my favorite, but they have everything to choose from, including chicken, pork, and vegetarian versions of just about everything on the menu. Anything with the lemongrass sauce is fabulous...it's so fresh and tangy. The noodle soups are perfect for warming you up when it's cold... More

Yet another great Vietnamese restaurant in San Jose. We came here for dinner, looking for a particular dish, cua rang muoi, but were disappointed to find that they did not have it. Foiled again but the quest will go on. Never the less, we ordered spring rolls, tom rang muoi, lemon grass chicken and some rice. The wait staff was... More

Wow, this place was amazing, except for the table next to us that had a bazillian yelling children... But, the food was excellent! I had a lemongrass chicken that was both sweet and spicy and so full of flavor it made me smile! The spring rolls and beef rolls we had were also very delish! Great cocktails too. Try the... More

From the outside, Vung Tau looks a little blah and somewhat dated!! But once inside, it has a classy ambiance! There are not many Vietnamese restaurants that really cater to upscale feel, with the exception of Slanted Door, but that is more Asian Fusion than Authentic!! I think the dishes that stands out here the most for me are their... More

We came here for dinner. It was our first time eating Vietnamese food and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The spring rolls and egg rolls were great appetizer and we had the #28 dinner which was very delicious! Can't wait to come back here!
