I've been going to Sam ever since he worked at Isobune. Then he opened this place and the quality is second to none. If you get the chef's choice sashimi it will be pricey but well worth what you get.

Ok, the place is a bit dated and it is not where you go if you want ambiance. But, if you want delicious, fresh, sushi variety, you can't beat Sam's. The line out the door tells you just how good it is. Sit at the bar for a fun experience and be sure to order off the blackboard - these... More

The positive is the casual atmosphere, a bit loud but relaxing and energetic place. Service is quick and efficient. But I don't understand the reviews praising the sushi here: the fish is fine, but the rice is definitely not. The itamaes (sushi chefs) overload the rice portion. We had to remove some of the rice to make the sushi eatable.... More

Sushi Sam has a casual ambiance and reasonable prices. Really high quality, big pieces of unique nigiri. The fresh tuna belly melts in your mouth. I love the arctic char which is dressed in house-made yuzu vinegar. The real highlight of my meal was the slivered roasted almonds on top of baby lobster. It's fun to sit at the sushi... More

This is the place where I learned to eat and appreciate sushi. I simply LOVE the place. It's small, and usually packed, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

This place has remained quite popular over the years because of its consistency. This comes with a price: often times you have to wait during peak lunch and dinner time. The problem is they don't have any space for guests to wait, so the line can stretch all the way outside the entrance door. When you come in, make sure... More

The quality of the sushi is good, but the servers always seem like they are in a hurry. Being a long time customer, it's like fast food sushi, eat and leave.

I visited here because I heard good stories about their Sushi. We visited weekend evening, and the place was packed. We were forced to wait for 15 min even with reservation. We ordered Omakase, and Sushi quality was pretty bad in addition to bad apps. Sushi rice was hot because they don't have time to cool it, and it killed... More

We love this restaurant. Our 2 year old loves the sushi. It is always a treat. The only complaint is the line is always long.
