This place is very good. The food is fresh and prepared with care. The service is outstanding, but best to have reservations.

Yakitori is my favorite and I'd rate this place top 2 in the Bay Area! Yakitori Kokko and Sumika are both great, but Kokko is the more affordable option. It's usually busy so we always make reservations in advance. Must eats: - Takowasa: simple and fresh. A good balance of wasabi - chicken meatball - pork belly - Soboro don:... More

Really good Yakitori, but it can get pricey if you're like me and want to try everything. For the yakitori (skewers) I liked the: Quail Eggs with Bacon Chicken Gizzard Chicken Thigh Duck Breast Chicken Meatball Chicken Hearts Pork Belly Asparagus with Bacon Cherry Tomatoes with Bacon Chicken Liver I could pass on: Fishcakes Scallops Chicken Breast Tender Beef Sea... The real Japanese grilled food is not what the average American tourists would normally go for, but... Trust me it's worth your time!

Kokko, or Yakitori Kokko, is a small & bustling Japanese Restaurant. In addition to the standard sushi and ramen, they specialize in skewers, featuring vegetables and a wide variety of meat & poultry. The sauces used on the skewers is delicious. You can get things like duck, lamb or pork belly. They also have chicken & beef skewers. The asparagus... More

Or don't expected to be seated til like 8:30. They DO NOT reserve seats for early (before they even open) walk-ins. I was pretty upset once when we were literally standing in line with couple other groups at the door and waited for half an hour only to be informed by a "oh well, too bad for you" faced waitress... The prices are reasonable here for the quality of yakitori you get and I like how they have a much wider variety of other dishes besides just skewers. Yakitori: Chicken Skin/ Chicken Hearts/ Chicken Thigh/ Bacon Wrapped Quail Eggs/ Bacon Wrapped Enoki/ Bacon Wrapped Asparagus/ Fish Cakes with Cheese/ Japanese Pork Sausages/ Squid/ Pork Belly/ Beef Tongue/ Pork cheek/ Chicken... I was turned on to this place by my cousin who owns a japanese restaurant. This place is awesome. Just make sure you have reservations or come first thing when they open. It's not that big and gets PACKED. Also parking can be a challenge. I love the stewed pork belly, okra, butter corn, kalbi, chicken karaage, beef tongue. Great... More

This is a small little japanese restaurant specializing in skewers. Great value, the prices are super reasonable, the service is good but this place gets CROWDED CROWDED. Make a reservation. The portions are large, the service is good. I would say the place is not great for large parties. The total seating is maybe 40 people. If you don't eat... More

They have black sesame ramen here! Broth and noodle both black!! They also have my favorite chicken wings. Love all their grilled stuff-cartilage, chicken hearts, liver, grilled veggies. Yum! Always busy and small parking lot. It's right next to another Japanese place.
