First time there. Cathy was our server & she was great. Not much of a variety to choose from but noodles are good. Had to wait outside as busy place but was seated quickly. Really turns tables fast.

Saw some great reviews from trip advisor and decided to try it out. The food is very good at it's price point. Small restaurant. Definitely not fine dining setting. Portion is generous. They offer a set dinner of 3 dishes (from a list of choices) for $21.

I was staying in San Mateo a short distance from this place, and the reviews I saw on TA convinced me that it was worth checking out. I walked in at 8:00 on a weeknight and almost every table was taken. I was the only non-Asian in the restaurant (always a good sign when looking for good Chinese food!). Within... More

This place is a hole in the wall, but when you walk in and see every seat is taken, you know you are going to be blown away with great food! We were thoroughly impressed. We placed our orders and then watched in awe as other delicious looking entrees were delivered to the tables around us. We would come back... More

Based on the reviews I was expecting a LOT more out of this place. First of all, it is in a little strip area in San Mateo - the area is very old and run down - the restaurant has 42 seats - my kid went to the bathroom and said it was filthy (I always find this to be... More

When I stayed for two years in the US two years ago, this noodle shop is where we always go to eat Spicy Szechuan food. Believe me, you should try this hole in the wall resto and make sure to order twice cooked pork, spicy noodles, Xiao long bao and Honey walnut prawns. The food is worth every penny.

This place is a diamond in the rough specializing in dishes from Hunan, a province in South Central China which is known for its smoked meats and liberal use of chili peppers and garlic. It is a small establishment that does not offer much in terms of space or decor, but what it lacks in these areas is made up... More

Read good reviews about this small Chinese restaurant that's located toward the eastern end of 25th Street for an early dinner. Was thrilled with quality and price of food. Orange chicken was quite tasty. The chicken-fried rice was a little lighter in color than I was used to, but it was delicious. Pot stickers a little thicker and pretty good... More

Nothing has changed except my opinion and my opinion of this place was already high. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area, bar none. It is not fancy but makes up for this with the fastest service you will ever experience and some of the best food you will ever sink your teeth into. I... More

I cannot believe that I just learned about The Noodle Shop. My goodness, this is a terrific little Chinese restaurant. If you like authentic spicy Chinese food at unbelievably reasonable prices, this is the place for you. The owners at The Noodle Shop have it right: serve great food at prices that are lower than everyone else around and you... More
