My wife and I went to Whipper Snapper yesterday after having not gone for a couple years. Happily, it was just as good as we'd had before. :) She had the fish tacos, which she loves, and I had the Jamaican Jerk Chicken. It was early so we were the only people there (just after 5pm) and sat outside. I... More

My wife and I were staying at the Marin Lodge and was looking for someplace interesting with good food. We found the Whipper Snapper restaurant on one of the locator apps. First of all, the restaurant is very quaint and you get a feeling like you belong there. The waitstaff are very friendly, attentive but not bothersome, and they know... More

We were not very impressed with the restaurant. Although the service was friendly, the food lack any pizzazz. The cigars were a little oily, and the fish tacos were drowned in the sauce and cabbage they came in. The meat was also smothered in a sauce that did not complement the actual meat, so it was a bit disappointing. Probably... More

We had heard about this place from Check, Please! and decided to try it out since we were in the area. I was a little surprised that it was mostly empty even though it was mid-week lunch time. Nonetheless we sat down and all three of us ordered the fish tacos. We lived in San Diego for 10 years and... More

I'd been in once before with a large group and I do remember the food being good but we were so busy talking, I don't think I gave it the attention it deserved. Recently we dropped in for a late lunch: chicken skewers, ceviche, and the be-all-end-all of spinach salads. Everything was delicious, the place is cute and clean with... More

We saw this restaurant featured on Check Please-restaurants review show on KQED. We decided to try it and glad we did. Unpretentious comfortable interior easy parking. Greeted immediately and made to feel welcome. Menu offers small plates, salads and a few mains. We split a great warm spinach salad-delicious Parmesan dressing, generous sprinkling of lardons and mushrooms. They have fish... More

Whipper Snapper is intimate, homey, mellow and fun! Sangria or wine with tapas choices to keep you chatting for hours. The salads were abundant and delicious. We liked the outdoor patio, there is a nice bar and indoor seating looked simple and had big tables for large parties. Really great service too!

Good food; great Sangria. A place to bring friends. Nice but small outdoor space. Parking eases after 5 p.m. Some unusual dishes. Everyone is eager to please and to accomodate.

This is our first time eating at this vibrant with a Caribbean/Latin deco. Foods are descent and flavorful, we had three of the tapas from the menu. Staff and owner Bill are friendly and nice! Their most popular dish is the Fish Tacos, we will definitely go back again!
