Just in for appetizers and some drinks but the atmosphere is nice, free valet parking, and a live band made for a very relaxing after work hang out.

Terrapin seems to get better as time goes on. One of my go-to spots for brunch combines a nice outdoor experience with excellent food and live music. The Brussel sprouts are fantastic as are the various egg dishes on the menu. It's really nice to unwind outside in the sun as the rainy season recedes. Great venue, nice people, good... More

Sunday brunch on a sunny day next to the canal. Watching boats go by, children play on the renovated park like area. Add a Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict. Wow, how could it get any better ? Then it does - music starts at half past noon - for us Craig MacArthur, Scott Guberman, Brian Rashap & Danny Luehring entertained... More

I went here with a large group, the service was excellent and the food was great. They had a live band starting to play at the end of our meal. There was a nice atmosphere.

Phil Lesh plays here almost every week accompanied by various other fine artistes. During our visit, there was Mr. Lesh with members of the Dark Star Orchestra and Moonalice performing two sets of music, each about 90 minutes long. As the sun set over the yacht club bathing the stage in golden light, the wind picked up and the band... More

We went here before a performance in Marin for happy hour and a meal. We ordered one of the speciality cocktails, Jill's Chill and I don't think there was any tequilla in it. It barely filled the martini glass and had what looked like a dried orange in it. Not good. The food was ok. Food was ok, we ordered... More

We were here for a family lunch. The kids had a great time, as there is a play area right in the restaurant, and we had an adjacent table. The food was good. The mini-raisin/apple muffins that were provided by the restaurant were incredibly good. The food is uniformly good, and there is frequently live music. Please make reservations. There... More

The live band sounded very Grateful Dead-like, and the volume was just right. We could hear the music, and still talk. There is an extensive menu. The pizza was just OK, and I would recommend something else. We really liked the Brussels sprouts appetizer. It had a wonderful vibe – go if you are in San Rafael.

My disclaimer is that I am a Deadhead by marriage. We met with friends on three separate occasions while visiting from out of town. One evening we ate in the back of the bar. There was virtually not enough light to read the menu.Would it be too much to have your wait staff carry a small flashlight?I had the fish and chips... Formerly, we went here just for the atmosphere, or with deadhead relatives from Chicago. We have been favorably impressed that this now qualifies as a good restaurant for the food, not just a cultural attraction.
