We went for dim sum based on the good reviews and were very disappointed. There is NO comparison to the dim sum restaurants in major cites throughout the US. The choices were few, the quality was poor and the prices were high.

We got to this place at 5pm on a Sunday, 30 minutes later it was full. The parking is conveniently located next to the restaurant. The food came quickly and steaming hot. It was delicious and must be shared.

First the negatives: We had reservations but had to wait. The restaurant was very busy and once seated had to wait nearly half an hour before a server approached. She was apologetic. It seems the staff was being pushed to accommodate as meany tables as possible. The positives: We tried new dishes and the food was very tasty. Even the... More

Looking for a table anywhere in Santa Barbara late on a Saturday afternoon is not easy. China Pavillion had a table and we just walked in. Service was excellent. Meal for 4 with a bottle of wine just under $200 with tip. We passed on the typical appetizers and opted instead to share an eggplant dish served in a wonderful... More

I first dined here with my husband and a friend at the end of December. It was a busy holiday time and the restaurant was overflowing with people. Our various dishes were well-prepared for the most part, but some were overly and unnecessarily salty. Altogether, however, we were pleased -- and enjoyed the vegetarian pot stickers and Moo Shu Chicken... More

China Pavillion is THE place to go for Dim Sum on the weekend. The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. It has no peer in Santa Barbara. It can be really busy and you may have to wait (something we seldom do in Santa Barbara), but it is worth it. I also like the fact that the food comes pretty... More

We enjoy this as one of our regular places. The food is always good and the dim sum on the weekend is awesome. Clean and renovated inside.

Each year 10 of us have gone for New Year dinner. This year, though we were there at 6:30PM they told us mid meal that they had run out of Long Life Noodles. The pea shoots were tasteless (too little garlic); the pork hooch was inadequate for 10 and with little flavor; fire cracker chicken lacked bite; the shrimp was... More

Excellent service and food. The Szechuan eggplant with pork was exceptionally good, and the chicken with snow peas was also very good. The fried rice was tasty. Portions were adequate.

While on vacation with the Fam we decided to do take out one night instead of going out. I found the place on line and decided to try. It was SO much better than I expected and than reviews lead on. We order 6 entrees for everyone to try and share and I kid you not everything was absolutely delicious!... More
