Eaten here dozens of times. Always enjoyable. Monday thru Thursday try the $34 prix fixe 3 course dinner. Plenty of delicious food for the low price. Respectable wine list. Friendly & efficient service. Cozy dining room. Family owned and operated. Reservations recommended.

I stopped here halfway home after an exhausting week in the central Bay Area. Had an ambrosial French fish stew, an exalted Sancerre, and a blessed chat with an unhurried wairess. I am renewed. Great quiet place on a weeknight.

Bistro 29 is a small restaurant, bistro. Reservations are necessary. Service was a bit slow at first, but then got better as the evening went on. My bistro steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty on a bed of arugula with frites, cooked crispy and tasty. Salads were all great--butter lettuce, simple greens and the kale salad. The dressing was... More

We have been here several times. Recently we had the wine pairing and prefix menu which was an excellent value especially for the high quality food and service we received. The Amuse Bouche was a delightful beginning. Next we had Crispy Buckwheat Crepe Dentelle with mushroom forstiere, chevre & local Greens - I will be back for this crepe again!... More

Bistro 29 is a standout. The food is made with creativity and meticulous care. The servers are great at explaining the food options. Intimate atmosphere and a great date night place. Consistently good and marvelous creativity show on their vegetarian dishes. Only critique is their wine list. Lots of French values but the quality level of the wine list doesn't... More

I was very impressed. The food was great and very generous proportions. The wine list was good and not very expensive. My father was very pleased that the corkage was only $15 and of course they would wave corkage if you bought a bottle from the restaurant. We had a memorable meal.

We thoroughly enjoyed the foie gras and the butter lettuce salad for starters. For our entrees we enjoyed the steak frites and the chicken frites. The food was delicious. The wine list was very reasonable with both French and Napa Valley selections. We would definitely visit again should we be in town.

Friends suggested this place, we had never even heard of it, so we went for dinner last nite. Outstanding experience. Good vibe from the moment we walked in, excellent service, and glorious food. One of the absolute best lamb shanks i have ever had, in a light, but delicious sauce. Chocolate dessert thingy was just simply obscene, i am sure... More
