I was traveling alone in the San Diego area on business. It's always hard trying to find a restaurant where I feel comfortable on my own, so I was looking for a fish place that wasn't too fancy or expensive but had good food. Found a review of the Solana Beach Fish House and decided to try it -- and... More

Been going to the place for several years. Food very consistent and love the Blackened Fish Burrito. Recently tried the Lobster Burrito and it was very tasty. Love their rice and appreciate the black beans. Will keeping going here for years to come!

The Solana Beach Fish House proved a delightful experience. The outside does not necessarily offer clues... but inside both the menu selection and the quality of food proved very good. Fish n chips was quite tasty. Fried oysters were plumb and appealing. The clam chowder was less special than expected, but smooth. Even the beer selection proved good. The late... More

This is a nice, traditional spot in Solana Beach. It has been here for decades. They are able to keep the quality, and actually even improve the atmosphere.

There are strip mall restaurants and then there are strip mall restaurants. These guys are among the best. Consistently awesome food (we frequent for the fish and chips - it is the lightest, crispest and tastiest fish you will have and my wife is from England so she knows) and a fun, albeit simple ambiance in which to enjoy it.... Went here for a meal back in April 2016 and it was worth going back again in Sept. Just a small mall type of restaurant, but we got very good service(personable servers both times), very good prices for this area, nice menu selections, and the food was "tasty"(The Clam Chowder was outstanding). The restaurant layout is nothing fancy, but for... More

We visit the restaurant every year. It offers fresh seafood every day and prepares exceptional meals. The paella is exceptional and at an extremely reasonable price. The restaurant is in a strip mall with no scenic view but does have outside tables. Staff is ways friendly and helpful and the meals are wonderful without the high cost of the beach... More

I like fish but find this restaurant to be unappealing. Sometimes there's a fishy smell that's not something you want in a restaurant. Dishes are unimaginative and average. Service is not particularly friendly and the owner is often gruff.

Really good dinner tonight. I decided on Sea bass with vegetables and Cole slaw. All was very tastey. Hubby had lobster burrito. It was good, but my sea bass won hands down! Prices at lunch are a deal for sure. Dinner was 12-20 dollar range depending on the dish. Def would return. Service a little slow. Don't go if you... More

Ate outside on a summer evening - pleasant. Service was good and attentive. Ordered chips and Guacamole (awesome!) and fish tacos. Fish tacos were... umm... different than I am used to. I am accustomed to some sort of grilled or lightly battered white fish, a half-fillet per taco. The fish in this fish taco was chunks of some darker fish... More
