Cold food, terrible service, slow kitchen, and high prices for what they served. I am not a stranger to high end restaurants. This place prices itself as one but was a chaotic mess the night we ate there.

I had the mussels. They seemed old. I only ate a few. The wait person did not ask why. My wife had the ribs and they were cold.
We had read that the Hot Box Grill was one of the best restaurants in Sonoma, and I tend to agree. If this place was closer to the downtown square, it would be packed. But when we visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening in...More
I really wanted to like this place and the first time we dined there it was pretty good. The second time we did the pre fixed menu and the experience just wasn't the same. The chicken schnitzel was really good but the soup was runny...More

Hot Box has always been one of our favorite Sonoma restaurants, and since it recently changed hands, we wanted to try it out. We met new owner Daniel Ebrahaemi, who has made only minor changes to the daily menu. Thank good ness the steak with...More
The food was of a good quality, simple but tasteful. The location along the main road is not ideal. The service was professional and efficient.
We walked from the Sonoma mission inn not sure what to expect. What we got was real, serious food. On the comfort food scale, but everything was delicious. For the devil eggs with bacon and some kind of cheese crip to the very simple field...More
I was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant, reserving it for our final night's meal before returning home. THE GOOD: We both ordered the Winter Tasting Menu, and while the teeny lettuce wrap was an odd pairing with the other courses, it tasted...More
