Good coffee, hand-pulled shots. Nice assortment of pastries, sandwiches and non-coffee beverages. Barking Dog has an eclectic decor and laid back vibe. A nice little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. If you're jonesing for your morning shot you may find the service a little slow.

If you need a coffee and have your way close to Sonoma, stop here and grab a mug and you will be satisfied. Coffee can´t be much better. There are also snacks and bakery available.

Stopped in for a java, wow this place is like going back in time. The staff was a bit off today, waited quite awhile just to order then waited 10 minutes for a late, and it wasn't busy!! Not going back

My husband and I had breakfast here every day while in Sonoma. They have muffins, bagels, and egg burritos as well as the usual coffee beverages. Everything was fine, I just wish they had more options for breakfast like hot oatmeal, more fruit, greek yogurt, granola/granola bars. Their morning glorious muffin was delicious! If I'm going to have a muffin... More

Roasted on site with a variety of roast types. Good coffee, although I wasn't a fan of the pour over, simply because I was too eager to get out and explore Sonoma. This was our stop before our long days visiting vineyards. Very col

This funky and fun coffee roaster and cafe has one of the most talented & savvy baristas in Sonoma. Cindy makes a potent cuppa on the house espresso machine surrounded by different denomination bills from scores of countries laminated and attached to the machine. The pastries here were tasty but we did not stay for brekkie. We highly recommend the... More

We were staying at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and breakfast is extremely expensive. Just outside the main entrance and across the main road is Barking Dog Roasters. The teas, coffees and smoothies my family and I had were great as were the croissants, bagels and muffins. I sat in the first morning and had tea before I took the... More

Since 1995 (with a couple of bumps and grinds in the road) Barking Dog has been providing high quality, freshly roasted coffee products to the Sonoma Valley community. For almost 20 years Barking Dog has purchased only premium Arabica beans and has roasted them to perfection in-shop to ensure absolute freshness. Our Roastmaster has been roasting coffee for us for over 10 years, having learned from a master roaster on our premises with our Probat Roaster. We roast in small batches which, though less efficient than large batches, helps ensure that the release is perfectly timed to capture the flavor profile of the particular bean variety at its peak. By roasting just-in-time for bar service and shipments we guarantee freshness. In the meantime Barking Dog has become a central meeting place and event venue for locals and out-of-towners alike. Local entertainers find Barking Dog to be an ideal small-setting venue for weekend and occasional after hours shows. The atmosphere is invitingly funky, the people are friendly and service oriented, and the products are very, very good. I assure you that if you're looking for great coffee, you've found it. On the other hand, if you're looking for trendy, you won't find it here. If you're looking for gimmicks, or the latest technology, or the most exotic this or that, this is not the place. Barking Dog is about putting a fine edge on the basics. As we have put the better part of 20 years into this (with the help of some brilliant coffee savants), we believe we have mastered the art of the cup and of roasting coffee to perfection, brewing it just right and serving it with pleasure.
