We decided to give Patough another try. It used to be one of our favorite places but after it changed owners a few times, the food and atmosphere were disappointing. Tonight it was the “welcome back moment”—each bite was apparent that the food was made...with love. Every dish was well balanced—lots of flavor. You definitely can’t go wrong here. The customer service is spot on and the owners are delightful. We are so happy to be welcomed back to Patough. Can’t wait to enjoy the wonderful food again soon—don’t forget the baklava(so yummy)More

I went with my wife and my dog (dog friendly restaurant!) and we received great service. The owner promptly arranged a table outside (something rare to find around), because of my dog. The taste of the food is amazingly rich and original. It's clearly a...place to come back. The downside is the location, I'd say that they deserve a place downtown with better ambiance.More

I grew up near Turlock and when visiting family thought it would be great to try something new all together. Food was good and service was ok. Only drawback was that the menu online didn't match the menu once we got there, but they made...it work for us.More

On our first visit we found out that this was the first anniversary for the new owners. We started with the eggplant appetizer which was a perfect start. For entries we had lmpamb kabobs and the sultani which featured two different types of beef kabobs....The meats were juicy , tender and lightly marinated. Desert was the rice pudding, a real treat and baklava( which often is smothered in honey but this was just perfect allowing the flavor of the filling to be enjoyed) . Service was friendly and informative and we were treated like a guest in someone's home. We will return to try the many other dishes.More

I loved my grilled chicken kabobs smoothered with lemon and mint. The grilled tomato and vegtable salad was spiced perfectly again adding lemon and mint. I was forced to have Baklava to top off the large portions which proved to satisfy even more. Stop by...and delight in the cuisine to bring all the senses back to the middle East! I'll be back in the future.More

Wanted a mid-week flavor adventure, and decided to try this place. Could not believe the WONDERFUL meal. First came a beautiful green salad that had straight-from-the-farm freshness (best restaurant salad EVER!) , followed by the most meltingly tender lamb shank served with a mound of...dill rice and fava beans - which does not happen on most menus! A lovely dish of hot lamb broth was brought as well. Very sweet family that owns the restaurant, they were efficient and gracious. While there a young man at a neighboring table was having a birthday. They sang the birthday song in both the American & Persian version. We wished him well and birthday cake was had by all! You should try this place, simple, unpretentions, and absolutely delicious food!More

This was my second time here, first time was about 5 years ago. I almost forgot how wonderful great Mediterranean food is - this was mouth watering! The koobideh explodes with flavor in your mouth. The dolmas pack the flavor, some of best I have...had. Nice atmosphere and family owned too. I recommend this place.More

I knew I was in the right place when I saw they had a shaker of sumac on the table for a condiment. (No, not the poison kind... ;)). The lamb shank was outstanding, accompanied by rice and Fava beans (How often do you see...Fava beans in a restaurant?). Service was very friendly and relatively quick. Was meticulously clean in the dining area. Definitely a return visit is due the next time I return to Turlock.More

While unassuming, our experience when we went to Patough in Nov. of 2016 was so good that we made it a point to go back the next time we were in Turlock. Our only regret was that we chose to eat at a different restaurant...the following night. We will be back!More

We started our meal with Hummus & as you can see it was delicious because hardly any left. Large portions of food too. Its the little extras; olives in the center of the hummus & actual lime halves served on the plate. I asked for...a jalapeno & they were able to provide that to me nicely grilled. Service was wonderful, so this place is a 10 in my book!More

We we in town ahead of a boys volleyball tournament, and tried Patogh. Great food, huge quantities, and great price. Be sure to order some the appetizers, and share the main courses. I'd had a big lunch, unfortunately, so I wasn't very hungry. I can't wait to go back with an appetite! The appetizer I ordered had blocks of feta cheese drizzled with olive oil, radishes, walnuts, onions, and cilantro - all so fresh and flavorful, eaten...with the large flatbread and a sauce brought to our table for all to share. My friends' meals looked fabulous! There were five of us, and all enjoyed our meals. I want to return for the lamb shank and rice. I ordered a Chardonnay, without asking what it was, and it was very good. (This, from a wine snob!) This is a family business, using delicious family recipes - a great alternative to the plethora of chain and fast food restaurants in this area. Our server was very friendly, answering our questions in a helpful way. I live in Modesto, and I will drive to Turlock again to dine here! A truly unique and authentic restaurant.More
