The wine selection was varied and the small plates were very tasty. The service was good for such a busy location. The prices are on the high side, so we treat this restaurant as an occasional stop, not one of our regular stops.

Don't go to Va de Vi if you are starving unless you want to spend a lot of money. It's a great place to enjoy small sampler plates and a glass of wine, but the bar area is small and you often have to stand....More

This is one of those rare restaurants where we've dined several times and found the food to be consistent. Specializing in tapa type plates, it can be rather expensive. The food is delicious and the wine selection is very good. The only drawback would be...More

Pretty steady restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. Cozy atmosphere, great cocktails and flights of wine menu. Food is consistently good. Must end with the blondie.

Va de Vi has good food, but the plates are small size, and you will end up spending a few $$$. I do not recommend going here if you are really hungry as you will spend a lot of money and will still need to...More

This is one of my favorite places to go in Walnut creek. The food is great, the wine selection is plenty and the location is right downtown. I send all my friends here and take all my out of town guest here as well. Could...More

This is fun place to go when the weather is good because they have beatiful outdoor seating. Been there 5 times and always get something in the patio. Food is tapas/small plates style so there's an opportunity to try a bite of several things and...More

I have eaten several times at Va de Vu and have always enjoyed them. It is best to go with at least 4 people , since everything is small plate and this will allow you to sample various things. We have always eaten outdoors. Inside...More

We went for lunch and bought 8 different small plates. Appetizer Bahn Mi sandwiches, zucchini fritters, mac and cheese, summer pasta, halibut, baby back ribs, plus blondie brownie, and a chocolate souffle. It was all wonderful. I loved it all and the desserts were especially...More

Va de vi was one of the top Walnut Creek restaurants. The small plates and creative wine menu were unique when it first emerged on the Walnut Creek scene. We visited the restaurant last week after a 6 month hiatus. It wasn't the same experience...More

Go online to see recent menu items. My vegetarian daughter had a hard time but she's also glutin & dairy free.

Description
Va de Vi translates to "It's all about wine!" in Spain's Catalan language. Of course, it's all about food, too! Chef Brad Zeller's menu encourages diners to explore and share a variety of eclectic, international small plate portions. Bold tastes encourage diners to explore the large international wine list, easily navigated by tasting notes. Many wines are offered by the glass in addition to pre-arranged flights to allow diners to compare different wines and discover new favorites. A warm, casual elegance defines the ambiance. Outdoors, dine under an ancient oak tree or grab a table in the picturesque lane.
