I think it is best espresso in Walnut Creek. Staff is professional, environment is friendly, cafe also has patio. Menu is small but delicious

Had an early trip to work on Sunday. Since I HATE coffee chains I thought I'd try my luck at a local shop on Main St in Walnut Creek. Am I glad I did!!! The coffee was superb, the scone devine, the service impeccable and best of all they didn't have that annoying coffee shop music droning in the background!... More

After a lunch in the neighborhood, we decided on dessert and opted for a highly recommended spot, Caffe La Scala. It did not disappoint. Carrot cake was divine the mocha is very good. Service was quick and cordial.

I'm not to fond of the seating and the good seats are often taken by regulars taking up too much space with their computers - although, I think this has improved a bit. But I will say the owner makes the best chai lattes and mochas I've ever had, they put Starbucks and Peets to shame. I don't know what... More

Consistency rules. You can't do better than Caffè La Scala in the entire county. For over twenty-two years it has been doing perfect food, superb coffee and other drinks in a lovely and comfortable setting with good music, plugs for your device(s) and newspapers and magazines to read (remember those?). It is an oasis in a city full of meeting... More

Nice staff help the ambiance of the Cafe. I had an informal business meeting and found the layout pretty good; other people were in the cafe but the layout allowed for space.

La Scala is a marvelous meeting place. It's a convenient location, good (though metered) street parking, across from the City Hall and walking distance from anywhere downtown. It has wi-fi and is very welcoming to customers with laptops. Small meetings are easily put together with moveable tables and a relaxed crew and atmosphere. The coffee and teas are great!

This place opened in 1994. The same family runs it. It is not a chain. It is quirky. It is not always consistent with cookie-cutter smiles by staff and temperature controlled drinks, but anyway you were tired with all that five years ago. You come here because it is comfortable (you can meet people, read, work, etc.), reliable (open late),... More

Really nice coffee place. Very clean and really spacious tables. The mocha was really good. Really like that they stay open late.

Got here for a late lunch and ordered the Italian Sausage pizza. It was a 10", thin crust type with cheese, sliced link sausage, chopped sweet peppers, and Kalmata Olives. Although I wouldn't have chosen that particular combination, it was pretty tasty. I also had Unsweetened Iced Green Tea and that was also pretty good. My coworker had a panini... More
