The breakfast on the terrace is perfect,a beautiful setting and great food and service. There is a more formal dining area we thought we would try for dinner and made a booking making that request. We arrived down and were ushered into the more casual area where we have breakfast? We asked why we weren't in the more formal area?... More

Once you manage to secure a reservation, you will then need to make sure Dimitri finds you a good table with a view of the bar and action. I eat here frequently and generally see high powered industry executives and celebrities. Not your B or C list players but serious A list film, TV and music folks. Food is very... More

The room is quite spectacular, particularly at night. Service is professional and experienced. My problem is that the food is just average quality and clearly doesn't match the settings and service. But the price certainly does...

Food is excellent- serving staff are attentive without being intrusive. Great view of downtown LA from some tables - adjacent to the pool. Part of historic Hollywood.

Four friends - 3 from Australia and one from Manila - enjoyed a wonderful meal here. The service was impeccable from the moment we stepped in the door - courteous, attentive and friendly without being intrusive (special thanks to Ray Thomasz our waiter). The decor is more European or perhaps 'old world LA'? - warm and inviting. It got a... More

It feels like you are in a different world when in here. An interesting crowd and interesting decor. Not my kind of place, however, others seem to like it.

Took my mother for an early dinner, place was empty, after being seated, when I asked if we could be seated in the main room by the window, I was asked to wait for the maitred, after 10 minutes a pretentious man came and told us that would be impossible. Customer service! #wontgoback

The Tower Bar is the epitome of class. It is elegant, tasteful, and as for the champagne? There are no words. However the best part of our Sunday brunch was our service. Angel, our waiter, was so helpful and entertaining...a true "angel" on the ground. He gave us the run down on the history of the hotel, recommended some nearby... More

After a long flight from London the previous day and once jet lag had kicked in, my boyfriend and I were awake at about 5.30am on the first day of our trip. We had already got Tower Bar booked at the Sunset Tower Hotel for brunch, but not until 10am. However, we turned up at 08.30am and they managed to... More

A friend, who is in 'the business', wanted to take us here for dinner. I tend to shy away from spots that attract the gitterati since I am hardly of that caliber - but it seems I was missing out on some great food and a wonderful atmosphere. It's a very crowded but beautifully and lovingly restored room which very... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
