We love this place. The fish is very fresh and the sushi made with real crab, not the imitation kind. The owners are great and take great care of your.

The couple/owners have been in this same place for 26 years...photos of customers, who they know by "salmon", "tuna", etc...for their favorite dishes.

Can't beat the atmosphere at Takahashi- everyone's enjoying the extremely fresh, authentic sushi and talking together with the chef. Great place to sit at the bar and watch a master at work. More traditional Japanese style than most local sushi spots so stick with the old school stuff, not the fancy, American style rolls.

This is a restaurant for people who enjoy a closer to traditional form of sushi and all that entails, including a personable, effusive sushi chef who we personally found delightful. There aren't a lot of rolls, but the fish is exceptionally fresh and it's clear that the chef knows his trade and employs it well. It can be pricey, but... More

Went here recently for the first time with friends. It's a small spot located in a mini-mall near Trader Joe's run by a husband/wife team. There was only about 5 other guests at the time. The sushi chef delivered up some very fresh, very tasty sushi. He was very friendly and clearly knew what he was doing. We stuck to... More

My daughter and I have lunch at Takahashi 2-3 times per week, and we never seem to tire of it. We always order the same thing- House Roll, avocado roll, miso soup and salad. We have tried other rolls, and they are good too, but we like to stick with our favorites.

Based on other online reviews expected the food to be better. The roll I ordered was okay. The teriyaki chicken was boiled chicken simply sliced with teriyaki sauce placed on it and the salad was fishy. Will not return.

The quality of sushi served is good to very good (but not great). The owners are friendly and very proud of what they serve. This DOES get a bit tiring, though, as the owner/chef doesn't stop telling you how top notch everything is and you end up just doing your best job to be polite and to match his enthusiasm.... More

Takahashi used to be different...but the last few times I was there it was empty of patrons and even though the food was good, and the owners are nice, I felt I was overcharged. It's hard to really understand what you're paying for in sushi restaurants when it's broken down only by "Sushi-$", "appetizer- $" and drink. You really can't... More
