My wife introduced me to the Box Car after her own visit last year. I was fascinated by both the range of coffee choices as well as the fresh baked items- Earl Gray Donuts are amazing- as are the sticky buns- made two visits- it was that good

We like to visit stand alone coffee shops if we can during our visits and selected these one based on reviews. There is a line but not too bad, the coffee was excellent.

Very good house roasted coffee. Limited seating and only counter service. They give you an opportunity to tip when paying with a credit card, but provide no service. When your coffee is ready, you must pick it up from the counter where it is placed once it is finished. No notification as to when it is ready. Limited selection of... More

Their coffee is top notch but I found Box Car to be less friendly than other coffee shops in town. The frittata in a muffin wrapper was quite good and easy to take with.

I'm really confused by the hype over this place. My friend and I stopped by since we were in the area and it seemed like the staff were confused that we came in and wanted coffee. They didn't come across as particularly interested in serving us, and actually acted as if we were a burden. We had no idea where... More

The coffee alone is so yummy and the guys working there know so much about the coffee and are so helpful. There is also a counter for quick bites to eat- also very good. Great atmosphere. Super local. Super awesome.

Going to Boxcar is something I do every visit to Boulder. They roast interesting coffees prepared with great care individually for each cup. They also have the best breakfast finger food in any coffee shop - worth trying even if you don't drink coffee. One treat is watching the deli in the same room prepare their sandwiches for sale later... More

I got the rootbeer milk latte. It was very good if you like rootbeer. The coffee itself tastes good. Check it out.

The cappuchino and double baked hazelnut croissant could not be any better unless it was less expensive and within walking distance. The coffee was smooth as butter and without any trace of unpleasant bitterness. Small space with some seating inside or a very rare outside table. Expect a bit of a wait.

This place is located in the same shop as Cured and it is a great spot for coffee. I am not a big drinker of coffee but I do like to partake occasionally. My wife on the other hand loves coffee (she actually runs a page dedicated to the stuff) and after trying several places she decided that this is... More
