We sampled many of the vegetarian dishes and everything was absolutely delicious. The owner was super friendly and very knowledgable about food allergies. For anyone that's vegan and/or gluten/wheat sensitive, this is the place for you! Bread was 100% teff, and they cooked with no...More

The restaurant was small and the decor was interesting and well done. The food was delicious, but the best of the experience was the kindness and care of Maya. Though I'm sure she has explained this a thousand times, it seemed like the first time...More

Awesome, one word review! The lamb dish (Yebeg Alecha) was incredible! I could eat that all day and not be sick of it. And my husband got the raw beef (Kitfo) because we wanted to go out of our comfort zone and oh my goodness...More

The restaurant is nestled in a corner of an old strip mall so it can be hard to find at first. The food is unique and the owner is a sweet little old lady from Africa who will treat you like a King or Queen....More

Located in a strip mall type setting in the historic section of Colorado Springs. A little hard to find, but worth the search. We arrived near the end of the lunch service, and despite our late arrival and our group of 5, they were more...More

The food was awesome. The coffee was awesome. The baklava was awesome. I only wish the portions were a little bigger but I will definitely be coming back.

Delightful Ethiopian dinner tonight at an unpretentious restaurant in the old city section of Colorado Springs. The food was delicious and Mama Maya was the ultimate hostess. We can't wait to return!

We have been coming to Uchenna for many years. Delicious food and wonderful hospitality! Don't listen to any reviews that say they have slow service - those people probably normally dine at Denny's. This is a small, family owned restaurant. Everything is made fresh and...More

There are many restaurants serving excellent meals, but this is only one I've been to where warm hugs are freely added to the menu. Call it intentional salesmanship if you like. I call it uniquely authentic and divine.

If it's Uchenna for which you're looking, then look no further. This is my all-time favorite restaurant. There is really something special about Chef Maya.
