We go to La Cocinita often even though it is a hole in the wall, but the food is consistently delicious, no matter what we order. The service is friendly and it feels comfortable. The place could be updated but the food is great!

Sat on the patio this afternoon for the USA Pro Challenge. Three years of visits and I am still happy. Our group had a great time. Of course, alcohol was involved. 14APR2013 Could be 5 stars. Just a few steps away. + The patio. Awesome. The pine trees provide the perfect amount of shade. And it is far enough from... More

I love this little place. A family-owned and operated restaurant between Sloan's Lake and Highlands. You come in and pick your own table, and if busy then wait for one to open up, order off their menu, and hot, fresh, delicious Mexican food arrives a very short time later. My favorites always include the chili rellenos; so usually I do... More

Great place for margaritas and fresh salsa. Fajitas are a must have along with the chili rellanos! Sometimes a wait but always worth it. Great family environment as well.

This is one of our go-to Denver stops for Tex-Mex cuisine. The plates are generous, budget=priced, and have just the right amount of spice. The tamales are special favorites, and we often take a dozen or two (frozen) with us to eat at home.

True to it's name, this is like walking into a Mexican family "kitchen". Very informal atmosphere and service, so I will rate with that in mind (not a crystal & linens 5*, but definitely deserves a 5 @ this level) . We could tell there were a lot of locals who have been there probably many times before. We were attended... More

We have been here numerous times and the food has not change since day one. Still the great taste and great value. Try anything on the menu will not be disappointed.

This family restaurant is a local favorite. My family has been dining here for over a decade and haven't been disappointed. The patio is great when the weather allows! I highly recommend their margaritas, guacamole, carnitas, and churros.

We used to live a block away. It was our second kitchen. We moved to Wheat Ridge a year ago, tried all the local places, only to find ourselves back at La Cocinita. Hands down, La Cocinita is the best Mexican food in town.

In north Denver for a college alumni weekend event and friends asked me to meet them at La Cocinita for dinner. I was reluctant because North Denver is home to so many great Mexican places and I had never heard of this place. Turns out that it's over by Sloan's Lake, family owned, very popular with families and happens to... More
