About
Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A

We ate at this local diner twice in our long weekend, while in Denver for a wedding. The menu is huge, covering all the meals and drinks. First time, at the counter where we could chat with others and enjoy a small breakfast. Nice people,...good service, quick & accurate. While ate my bagel, I watched a nearby person enjoy some eggs benedict on different base, not English muffin, and a sauce I didn't recognize but looked great. Our second visit found us seated in a booth near two guys who ordered brunch stuff and shots of tequila - at 9:00 AM. We had pancakes & sausage, and scrambled eggs with bacon. Both done nicely. Coffee was good, the orange juice OK. Be prepared to use your phone to get a menu from the QR code on the counter or table. This is a diner, after all. But if you don't have a smartphone, they will offer you a tablet.More

Great spot to get a true Colorado culinary experience. You can get green chili on anything. Meals are large portion, come with an empty stomach. I recommend the Mexican breakfast if you like something slightly spicy. Expect a wait as this restaurant is a popular...establishment. They use a text system and electronic waitlist that you can see where you are in the waitlist. You will see the manager being hands on and greeting guests as they arrive. He is very engaging and communicative to guests. Menu is a QR scan. Overall, it was a great culinary experience.More

We stayed at the Tru Hotel and this place was a block away. It has great reviews so we decided to try it and it lived up to expectations. It is big but they are efficient. The eggs benedict was a great dish and my...wife had an omelet. The only possible criticism would be the impossibly large portions. No one should eat that much. The omelet was made with 4 eggs (and looked larger) and the menu didn't say if there were options for two egg omelets. The food tasted great and the service was excellent.More

I really enjoyed my breakfast. It beat the hotel blandness easily! I had an eggs-link sausage-pancakes breakfast with great coffee! Mmmmm, I wish I were back there right now!

the place is very nice indeed, but the food was a bit hard to digest, i only had one breakfast burrito and a coffee and i barely could eat dinner (and i eat A LOT!) so i’m not quite sure about the food quality, but...it was tasty indeed. i was disappointed to have found it closed at 9ish pm, it looked like a diner but i guess it wasn’t.More

This spot was featured on drivers, drive in, and dives TV show. It's very popular and is always busy. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. Our food (greek salad and burger) arrived about 5 minutes after we ordered it. They probably have a...system of partially prepared popular items. Our bill arrived just as we finished the last bite. Food was good; burger was a bit greasy and messy to eat. Would go again to try their breakfast.More

(I live downtown.) The portions are big, but the food is poor. Almost as poor as the service -- I had to enlist a different waiter than my own to get stuff, such as the check. But the place has a sort of cult following....Don't know why.More

We stumbled in for a late lunch because we were staying at a hotel nearby and it was delicious. The atmosphere was fun, the portions were huge and service was fast. A day or two later we went back fro breakfast. We had to wait...about five minutes and the food took a tiny bit longer to get but it was SOOOOO worth it. Never had an empty glass, and the staff was helpful with our menu questions, combos.More

It was a Saturday morning and we expected a wait. However, the system of checking people in was frustrating because rude people will walk in and step right in front of you to put their name on the waitlist. Hostess sees this and allows it....I wish we had opened the QR code menu during the 40 minute wait because it takes about that long to read through it. The menu options are amazing and it is difficult to decide. I chose The Denver Omelet and traded my potatoes and toast for mini cakes. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict with tater tots. The portion size is A LOT! Food was fantastic. My omelet was packed with meat and veggies and delicious! We’ll be back.More

Stopped here on our way to South Texas- perfect for whole family, including fussy hungry toddlers. No waiting and a great variety to choose from on the large comfort food buffet.
