Somebody was looking for a home for their extensive collection of model ships and they ended up here. Too bad that was many decades ago, as it all looks a bit tired now. It could be cool again with a refresh.

This is a very old hotel and the ships tavern is the bar inside the Brown palace hotel sitting in downtown Denver If you're visiting Denver it's worth a drop by to have a snack in the bar and and tour the hotel. A large group of us went in to have snacks, drinks and to read about the history... More

Always a nice room unless it is crowded with 'fans'. Why they put TVs in the bar and ruined the atmosphere, I will never know. The prime rib has come back up to our expectations. If you go on the weekends, you can enjoy John Kite at the piano! also, it is the best place to go for Christmas Eve.

Very cool little bar/restaurant in the historic Brown Palace. Ship decor, small good menu and excellent high end wine and liquor selections. A couple of my favorites are the seafood chowder and the fresh oysters.

We visited with a traveling relative with dinner at the Ship Tavern. They were fairly busy when we arrived, but emptied out quickly. Clam chowder is great, buffalo burger is quite tasty with decent fries, but table service is so slow. Rustic decoration, and ambiance includes a pianist with wide variety. We might go back but earlier in the day.

We stopped in the Ship Tavern around 10:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated next to the piano player. The place wasn't packed but it was very loud. Our waitress actually apologized to us for how loud it was. We were fine with it, I was just surprised by the volume for such a small room. Our waitress was... More

Interesting signage and location in an old hotel made it looked appealing. But honestly, $27 for fish and chips is a little over the top. Not anywhere near the British Pub feel it could have been. Limited menu, most folks ate burgers which were ok. Limited selection of draft beers as well - mostly domestic.

While the food was good and the staff responsive, the costs of Truffle fries and a spinach salad were a bit on the high side. But, this is an Autograph hotel so it was to be expected.

On my own for a conference on a Friday night, I wasn't sure what to do for dinner. I was a bit of a distance from the 16th mall strip and really didn't want to walk too far in the dark alone. I managed to book a table on Open Table only an hour before my reservation, and was glad... More

Food was great. Server was very courteous, very professional and very efficient. The atmosphere makes a special experience. I did feel that the prices were a bit out of line, which is my reason for only four stars.
