Honestly, the interior has more graffiti on it than an freight train. The place is run by friendly kids who serve huge pieces of delicious berry pie and their shakes are more than any one person should attempt to eat. We enjoy watching the hummingbirds...More

We stopped on our way home from skiing at Winter Park. Not only does it surprise inside as it is quite beautiful and tasteful in contrast to the somewhat tacky exterior but the variety of foods inside was amazing! The handmade candies are unique and...More

The shakes you will get a worth the stop. Get off the interstate at Empire and drive the 10 minutes to the sweet shop. They also have sandwiches, but the shakes are the best. They have winter hours during the week.

we first visited years ago, and keep going back--every time we drive through Empire, CO we stop for malts. Order one of dozens of flavors. Order a small (huge) medium, or large (gigantic) for an incredible treat. Add malt (+50 cents?) or "make it thick"...More

On your way to the mountains, bulk up in preparation for the climb. Leaving the mountains depleted and in need of an energy boost? Either way this makes for an interesting stop and the shakes are homemade and truly unique (and yummy). Under new management...More

We stopped in for a late lunch after skiing. Service was efficient and very friendly. The restaurant is run by a local family. The BBQ was very tasty and the burger was juicy. Dessert is the highlight though. The shakes are extra thick and lots...More

Amazing, amazing. My first taste of a place like this in the states and didn't disappoint. Shakes, thick and delicious. Variety aplenty. And a train!!

Not just sweets but some great food! Homemade BBQ that is amazing! I love the pulled pork. My wife loves the veggie burger. But the real reason to stop is for the milkshakes. I could eat the banana shake every day. Amazing

Lewis Sweet Shop is famous for tall thick shakes & malts made with real ingredients not syrups. Original candy recipes & caramel corn date from 1949. Fresh baked pie. BBQ brisket & pulled pork slow-cooked all day on site. Pork carnitas tacos, corn dogs, juicy burgers. Quirky decor makes this Empire Landmark a favorite of multiple generations - call if you're nearby & we'll keep the lights on for you!
