We were staying up the mountain outside Breckenridge and spent the day hiking up to lower Mohawk Lake…over 18,000 steps. We ate dinner in Breckenridge and the place did not have dessert. Decided to take a drive and head over Hoosier Pass and check out...dessert in Fairplay. I checked TripAdvisor and found Millonzis. Glad we stopped! Had to sit at the bar as we did not have reservations. Bartender was great and we had great tiramisu! The dinners coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous. Will definitely plan for dinner next time we are in town.More

The wife and I decided to drive out to Fairplay for an afternoon birthday dinner (~65 miles one-way) because we really like Millonzi's and we haven't been out that way in a few years. Our visits there were always great. They serve primarily Italian fare....I made a reservation via Open Table the day before and got the time slot we wanted (right when they open) since we had to drive back the same evening. Initially we were seated at a table by the hallway leading to the restrooms and the outside back deck (which did not appear to be open that day?). Unfortunately, this table didn't make for a pleasant dining experience because the restroom scent (septic) was noticeable. We asked if we could move and fortunately they were able to accommodate us with no issues that early. Dinner was great! Since this was for our birthdays (4 days apart), we had wine and the Parmesan fries as an appetizer. We split a Chopped Salad, which was a good thing because it was large and we had the appetizer and dessert. The salad tasted fresh and was very good. I had the Chicken Bacon Penne and my wife had the Salmon. These dishes were very tasty. I forget what came with them. I know the salmon had an accompaniment. I see now on their menu that these options have changed (it has been almost a month since we were there). I should note, if this is important to you, the couple at the table next to us inquired if the salmon was wild or farm-raised, and to the restaurant's credit they did indicate it was farm-raised. It was very good, but I know for some folks that might be something to know ahead of time if you have your heart set on salmon. We had the Lemon Marscarpone Cake for dessert, recommended by our host. We really enjoyed it. Creamy and not too sweet. Our dinner visit exceeded our expectations and made for a nice, short birthday celebration get-away for a few hours. Would definitely recommend Millonzi's if you are in town or passing through.More

We are going to start trying to visit restaurants we see on Food Network as we travel. Saw the story in this one and our visit did not disappoint! Greeted at the door by a super engaging young lady. Wait staff was informative and appropriately...attentive. Good was superb and served amazingly fast. Will go back for sure. While the menu was not extensive, we found things we want to try on our next visit.More

We have celebrated & attended several functions at Millonzi’s . Many times too, for happy hour & munchies. Nice to enjoy a great meal, warm bread knots & chat with the friendly staff. Need directions, places to hike, cross country ski, horseback ride, ask’em...they live...here! Yikes, try the bread pudding too if they have it, melts in your mouth. Need something quick & warm? The Soup Pot, a Sister restaurant in Fairplay, awesomeness in a soup pot! Great after cold slopes! Family run & family fun!More

We drove over an hour to try the new and improved menu and newly decorated place. Disappointed to find out they were closed. No note on the door. Voice mail and website didn't indicate anything either. No wonder Restaurant: Impossible tried to save them. Terrible...communication with the public; their customers! (locals say they close/open whenever they feel like it.) Probably won't try again.More

I was really confused. The website touts fine dining and shows pictures of an upscale decor with tablecloths, etc. In reality, the restaurant was more like a small town bar that had been converted into a bar and carry-out pizzeria on one side and a...dining room on the other. The decor is more sports bar than restaurant. The menu as advertised is very Italian, which I suppose adds variety to burgers and steaks in a small town. However, it would have been nice to have fresh Colorado trout. Supposedly everything is house-made from fresh ingredients. Portions were generous. Lots of carbs. You might want to leave your belt at home. My caesar salad with chicken was huge. The parmesan cheese tasted rubbery however. It was grated, not shaved. Had it been shaved parmesan the salad would have been an 8 out of 10. No ground pepper offered. The cheesecake I had for dessert was way too rich and sweet. Service was very good, despite a busy restaurant. Besides the mismatched decor and theme, my only complaint was the cleanliness of the two bathrooms. They needed a thorough cleaning and perhaps a renovation. $42 with tip and tax for a glass of wine (the Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc was the best white on the menu), entree, and dessert. I would probably return if I was in Fairplay as there aren't many options.More

In this Covid year, we think every restaurant needs to be cut a little slack, and so we'll return to this one next time we're in Fairplay. To begin, it was the only place on a recent Wednesday in Fairplay where the staff was serious...about safety. We weren't really in the mood for Italian, but most Fairplay restaurants are closed Wednesdays. We approached the other two open restaurants, but we were ignored at one (as was safety) and told at the other that the kitchen was 45 minutes behind schedule. The hostess who seated us at Millonzi's was very nice, and gave us a table for two on an open air deck with a beautiful view. We ordered two small plates, shrimp and mussels, which I would not order again. We do, however, think the owners deserve another try, and we'll be back for their wood-fired pizza.More

Absolutely Delish Food! The best home made “Knot Bread” ever! Perfect for soaking up all the delish, tasty sauces too. Wonderful wine, deserts, and our waitress was great! Definitely will be back!

Had 2 tables of family, made reservations and the tables were ready when we got there, waitress told us they were out of pizza(arrived at 6:30), the waitress must be family because she was horrible, took our drink orders and skipped 2 at our table,...they finally had to flag her down to order their drinks(2 beers and took 11 minutes for her to bring them). The food was ok but when we got the bill; the 20% tip was already included...so this horrible waitress got her money, I would have given her 2 cents, guess I should had looked on the menu for their policy on tipping. The other table service by the same waitress was just as bad, took them 1:20 to get all their food and the restaurant was not very busy...never again....More

Millonzi's is a good, Italian mountain restaurant located on Main Street in Fairplay. It's a cool old building, rustically decorated and the food is excellent. Typical mountain pricing. The toasted ravioli is a great appetizer.
