Morrison Inn in historic Morrison, Colorado founded by a Scot. You have my attention, give me the history. Built as a mercantile, then has a history that includes uses as a dance hall, a drug store, a pool hall, tobacco and barber shop. Then returning...to the original use of a mercantile complete with gasoline service! ALL to say, visiting the area and not doing any research, you would expect something different!! When you hear they are known for their margaritas, chips and salsa then you expect something special. For us, we only drank water and the food was average (helps readers to understand WHY it has an average rating on TripAdvisor). The biggest positives for us was the proximity to Red Rocks Amphitheater AND the attempt to re-create the humidity of the Deep South on the patio, our moisture starved bodies did appreciate that :-) IF you want a quick bite before attending Red Rocks great, but if you want an eating experience with memorable food, keep exploring your options.More

After seeing the leaves turn we decided to stop in Morrison for lunch. Construction when coming from Golden around the Morrison Inn. 1st thing noticed was no free parking in town and Morrison Inn has none. $2.70 for 2 hours in a handicap space about...a block away from Morrison Inn. The City is cashing Inn for the lack of parking and fleecing visitors, not to mention the strick 25 MPH enforcement even on the out skirts of town. Less about safety than $$$$. Beers were cold but pricey. Oktoberfest beer was good. Food was good but I had to take 4 bites before I found some chicken. Lots of air in that chimichanga. Margaritas were good too, but again pricey,More

We stopped here for dinner before a concert at Red Rocks. It wasn’t very crowded and we sat upstairs on the patio which was nice with lots of shade. The queso was great and my fajitas were also good. We did happy hour and the...margaritas weren’t very strong but they tasted good. We had great service as well.More

My own experience with the few times I've been here, including today, as well as reading many of the ratings of the other reviews, don't understand its ongoing popularity. The food is at best average and expensive for what it is. Which is very basic...quality Mexican food. While the service is good and friendly and the atmosphere is homey, if you're interested in very good Mexican food at reasonable prices, this isn't the place. The fact that it has its own gift shop might give another further clue.More

Margaritas were good but pricey. 32oz about $20. But equivalent to 4 drinks. Great service! Music. Good vibes. Patio seating.

A fun decorated restaurant with indoor or patio dining. Indoor seemed a bit dark and we opted for outdoors. There are many large tables with umbrellas and misters, to choose from. There is a small stage and we enjoyed some live country music. They have...a good house margarita, 16 or 32 oz., but probably could have used a bit more tequila. My friend and myself, each ordered 2 mahi fish tacos with coleslaw, that I loved, but my friend thought the slaw had too much mayo. Another friend ordered a ground beef burrito and it was huge! It filled his plate! He evidently enjoyed, as he ate it all. Hubby enjoyed the spicy grilled chicken street tacos. There were 4 taco’s with black beans and rice, which we all ordered as sides.More

We went for Mexican food. Sizes are large! Food is great. We had chimichangas (shredded beef), burritos and sopapillas. The service was great and what an atmosphere on a deck in the Rockies.

Started with a margarita but missed the note that happy hour starts at 3pm; got there about a half hour early, lol! The queso dip was very good and the chips for the salsa were tender crisp; I hate chips that will break your teeth!...The salsa was sneaky hot but a little thin. The grilled chicken and steak burritos (we each had one) were very good as well and kept it well saturated with the salsa!More

If you're expecting authenic Mexican food try someplace else. The salsa tastes like they took tomato soup and put some onions in it. The Spicy Chicken Burrito was marinated with tabasco and no other depth of flavors. The margaritas are pretty much 75% ice. It...was a treat to sit on the back deck with friends but that's the highlight of this place.More

This is my go to restaurant in Morrison. The staff is incredible. The margaritas are amazing. I recommend the Coin Margaritas and Chili Rellenos. You can’t go wrong. Enjoy the live music on the Deck! It’s great!

I met my friends here for lunch. The Mexican food was authentic and delicious. Our waitress was really nice and patient with us, as we had not seen each other in many years so we wanted to stay and talk and eat. We sat on...the patio, tables are spaced appropriately to distance. The inn is cute and the gift shop had lots of really neat items for sale.More

We were craving something Mexican and this was recommended to us. We have actually been before when it was warmer and sat on their deck. It was good then, and it was still good now. it was a bit snowy so we sat inside. Service...was great, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meals, and since I personally was torn between a few, I know I would love to try more. We also ordered Queso to start. Almost didn’t, because it seemed expensive, but portion on that is big and it was worth it. We also took the rest home and they were kind enough to send us with chips to eat it with later. if we lived closer, we would be back sooner.More

Ate outside on patio on gorgeous fall day. Live music-guitar player. But the food wasn’t great. Nachos had large clumps of meat, little cheese. Good service though
