When I arrived at this pub it struck me as the sort of place fairies or dwarfs might hang out on their day off. Massive amounts of character and cosy nooks and crannies, I was over the 'moon' to find on a chilly May day...More

Keith It was a treat to welcome you again on Sunday. I could see you loved the roast. I have to say we do lovely roast dinners - the trick is buying the best meat. Hope to see you again soon

We had a very enjoyable evening at this lovely pub and had a warm welcome from Donna who looked after us wonderfully. The food was excellent - delicious fish soup - and, on a cold Spring night, the fires and fairy lights were lovely. Thoroughly...More

Found this place by accident, but would certainly go back, very friendly, open fire, which makes the atmosphere warm and cosy, we ordered the Sunday roast, which was lovely. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Description
The Moon and Mushroom is a quaint 16th century Inn. It is believed it was used as a staging post for prisoners being deported to the Colonies from the Ipswich Assizes. This beautiful old Pub was featured by Sky News all day during the Jubilee weekend and we were chosen from all of East Anglia to light the Rural Beacon which was televised nationally and internationallyThe Moon and Mushroom has won The Best Country Village Pub for Food and Drink on 2 separate occasions.Real Ale from small East Anglia Micro Breweries is served straight from the Tap Room and our varied menu is all locally sourced and cooked here on the premises. This is a fabulous old pub with no juke box, one armed bandit or television
