Diversity of menu and friendly place. Good special lunch items, and dinner atmosphere is cozy. Wine and cocktails at the bar fun for a solo dinner.

Wonderful place to go to eat breakfast. Enjoy yourself and have excellent meal. The owner and chef is from a big hotel chain and has come here to spread good food to this valley

Motorcycling through CO, staying in Salida. We look for good food everywhere we go. Shallots fit the bill for us. Small cafe owned by an energetic couple. Menu is diverse and they have marvelous evening specials. Highly recommended!

Great service. Fresh food. Creative combinations and classic fare. Hard to find quality like this in a small town but here it is.

We almost waited for a table at Fritz's and should have. Nothing was particularly good -- for instance, the lamb was fairly fatty, overcooked for medium rare, and pretty bland. A garden salad almost seemed like a cafeteria salad. The service was slow -- about 35 minutes maybe after we ordered? The owner/chef (I'm assuming) came by and asked how... More

We were going through town and decided to look at the historic downtown for somewhere to eat when we spotted Shallots. It looked like where the locals came to eat, relax and converse. The food was great! We all ate from the specials menu and couldn't have been more pleased. Not a place to go if you're looking for something... More

The food was good. The mimosas were good. The bartender was a hoot. I would recommend this place. If we are ever back in Salida, we will eat here again.

Ambiance of a decent local bar that provides good, well sourced/cooked food. Excellent ingredients for both plates were marred by cold plate and at best, lukewarm food, Waitress was advised but didn't care or offer to re-heat or replace. A really good NY strip steak ordered medium came out medium well which spoiled, rather than ruined a fabulous piece of... More

We stopped in to what we thought was a nice establishment and had dinner. It was a very busy Saturday night. Got seated at the bar and we decided to eat there instead of waiting for a table which was fine. Had a nice cocktail and received our food. My steak was suppose to be medium but had no color... We were there for my husbands birthday and it was excellent. Robert was our server and went above and beyond so that we had a special night, as well the owner who was very personable. My husband had the curry Marlin and I had the Lamb chops both of the dishes were EXCELLENT. As well as my husband enjoyed a... More
