We stopped for wine and appetizers. We sat at comfy couches by the fire place and enjoyed great wine and beef meatballs from the cattle raised at the ranch. Fantastic!

We were the only people in the place for breakfast at 10:30 am and they had no coffee made and NO cream. The food was decent, but when we asked for a second cup of coffee they said they had to brew another pot which made us feel like we were putting them out. Needless to say it took 25... More

We had 3 meals here during our stay at Devil's Thumb and overall everything was great! Meal #1 Beer flights (GREAT way to taste the menu) Wagyu burger & sweet potato fries - the burger was delish! Excellent local beef. The sweet potato fries were not fresh but I loved the spicy flavor infused in them. I loved the brioche... More

Food - acceptable Service - poor= extremely slow even if restaurant is empty Location of resort is great and the facilities good. However, the service was extremely slow even when there were only a few guests.

My wife and I sat on the patio overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery. We ordered the burger which we were told was made from a cow raised there on the ranch. I cannot properly express in words what happened next but I will try. They served us the most delicious burger I have ever tasted. The flavor of the meat... More

What's not to love about Hecks! Nothing. The ambience is elegant. The food is great. Anything Wagyu is worthwhile! Call for reservations particularly on Saturday evenings! Ask for a window table for an evening meal. Afterwards, be a kid and roast marshmallows outdoors. It's just fun! One of my favorite places to dine with friends in Colorado! Worth it!!

I write this with a heavy heart, because I love Devil's Thumb Resort. We have stayed at the resort numerous times, and we have spent the last two summers in the area so we have had a chance to eat here a lot. Heck's is the more economical choice for dining at Devil's Thumb, but it is the most inconsistent.... More

Two perfect rare steaks and a special request roasted jalapeno all came out incredible. The cooks at Heck's have some real skill. I appreciated the open atmosphere and giant center fire place that the diners surrounded. The waitstaff was attentive and not obtrusive. Everything with our stay and Devils Thumb Ranch, including our visit to Heck's was impeccable.
