Outstanding dining experience from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the hostess. Our server was Cassie and she delivered excellent service. The meal was well paced. The food was delicious and piping hot. Best cheese fondue compared to other fondue restaurants. We also enjoyed the raclette Matterhorn. Just the right portion for two people. Loved the chocolate... We have loved every visit to the Swiss Chalet, and visit once a year. Our favorite items to order: - Raclette - they bring a grill to the table, and you can grill veggies & meats on the top, and melt cheese underneath. - Fondue - cheese or chocolate, both amazing! The staff are friendly & helpful. The restaurant is... More

Like most restaurants in Vail, this is a treat. Who doesn't love fondue? The French onion soup is also a must. It can get pretty busy and noisy later in the evening but the waiters don't miss a thing. Our service was excellent and we had a wonderful evening.

This place is very popular and usually requires reservations made far in advance, especially during peak holiday periods. The variety of fondues and raclettes are terrific and the food is generally tasty. The dessert fondues are not to be missed. The wine list is also pretty good. However, on our last visit, the service was so bad I finally complained.... More

WE were went on a whim and were glad we did. We sat at the bar and had great service!! The find was wonderful as was the cuisine of this restaurant. I would recommend this spot to a small group. It was rather special stop in Vail village.

Having been to Zermatt last year, I would definitely say that Swiss Chalet is NOTHING like what you get in Switzerland. The ventilation is very poor. Our eyes were watering throughout the entire meal due to all the fumes. I think my friend almost had an asthma flare up. We got the Kasefondue (cheese appy). It came premade--there was no... More

Great restaurant and fun place to eat with a group. Really not ideal for couples. Services was good and atomsphere was great. Some Swiss staff would have been nice though.

The prompt service and the traditional Swiss decor made it a great night. Only thing I would avoid ordering is the steak tartare as appetizer as it was average at best --- came "unprepared" as one has to mix the ingredients with the meat oneself and it is very dry as well. However, my fault in ordering something not really... More

Great very cozy, very Swiss place, you feel as if you were transported into a restaurant in the alps. The fondue is delicious, the cheese fondue and the bourguignonne, you have to order the chocolate/hazelnut fondue for dessert. The raclette is also a very good option. Great service. Leave your jacket at the front door or else it will smell... More
