Come here to find a beautiful space filled with artisan loaves, boules and batards, quiches, prize winning pies and other confections. Some other offerings from local artists or packaged food stuffs and a cold cases chocked with cheeses local and abroad. Keep one loaf for yourself and one to share. Not to be missed if you appreciate GREAT bread and... More

This place has been around awhile and the food never disappoints. Quiches, pies, cakes, pastries.....and the BREAD!!!.....OMG. All baked fresh daily. Many varieties to pick from. No bad choices here. Bakery is in a basement. Parking is tricky. Entrance is a little precarious to navigate. But it's all worth it. Going to a friend's house for dinner? Pick up dessert... More

Bantam Bread Co. makes bread the way it should be made. Good grains, slow rising, properly baked with a thick crust. The result is a meal in itself. Equally good are the pastries. Pick up a few loaves or stop for coffee and pastry. Buy an extra loaf and share it with someone on the way home. The Dirt Bombs... More

We love the breads that we have tried. We have had the olive loaf a few times and love it. The orange and other dessert breads are also great. The small tarts are great. You really can not go wrong here.

Fabulous bread-some of the best in New England and terrific, hard-working people. It is worth the drive. Leave time to stop at Arethusa-the dairy farm, restaurant or cafe. All hidden gems in small town CT

Don't let the basement location stop you. A bit confusing to find but what a find. Breads and pastries so tasty and original. I had the compagne bread, fresh, which melted in your mouth. The angel bites, pb cookies, blueberry loaf simply the best. A must!

I have patronized this place for many years. There is a limited selection of fresh, high quality bread and pastries.

I have shopped here for years, have tried everything they make and all are made well and excellent representations of classics or new favorites. Some things may not be to my taste but they are all well done. Prices are fair for a quality product and they always help out with local charity functions which is nice.

The cinnamon raisin bread is fabulous. They make certain breads on set days so look up what you are looking for. They also have a few deserts that are yummy. I drive about 45 mins to get their bread. The olive bread is great.
