We took eight friends with us to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had a large table upstairs. Everything was perfect, the food was delicious, the service top class. This place is a gem! So lovely to not have, hi guys, what can I get you....The waiter’s at the Toby are professional and polite, never letting your wine glass get empty, but not in your face and hovering. Everyone one of our friends were impressed, they really made our day perfect.More

The Toby Cottage is a Family favourite and has been for many years. Tony and Staff are always a delight to see and you are always made most welcome. Their food is simply fantastic, superb set menu with good choices and great value, and the...a la carte menu and daily specials means you really are spoilt for choice. Service is attentive, without rush or intrusion and the ambience is cosy and private, a real escape from everyday stresses! Thank you for a great evening last week, we’ll see you again very soonMore

Food you could cook better at home. Really disappointed. Super overpriced for what we got. We had scallops which I normally love but they were overpowered by the sauce. Hake was mediocre. Banoffi pie was dry. Will not be returning or recommending. Needs to be...modernised and serve great tasting food for that price. Waiter was not very helpful and obtuseMore

Toby cottage restaurant never disappoints! This was our fourth visit as a a group of friends, first since 2019. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, the menus offered many choices , the food was perfectly cooked , well presented and full of flavour. Many...ingredients are home sourced . The dessert trolley, as ever , was laden with so many tempting sweet treats.. The building is old and full of original features , there are white tablecloths and a great atmosphere. As a group of friends, we travel a way to meet up with each other, this restaurant is worth the journey. Long May it remain here ! Thank you !More

I love Toby Cottage. The service is second to none, the food is fantastic, and it's always a great time going there. Whenever my parents are over, we always make sure to pay a visit! I can't wait to go back again - even if...it's just for the dessert trolley! Keep up the fantastic work :)More

A small intimate restaurant, excellent food, friendly staff. Have been to Toby Cottage for-nearly 15 years. Always for special birthdays and anniversarys, but lots of times if we want a great evening out or Sunday lunch. Highly recommend.

A returning customer this time with our three under 10 boys for a Sunday lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend The Toby!

We were a party of seven and everyone said their food choice was excellent and apart from the food how much they had enjoyed the friendly service and the ambiance. We especially appreciated the dessert trolley - what you see is what you get! This...is a special kind of restaurant - a one-off in this day and age. Sally and GrahameMore

We returned to the Toby Cottage with family for a night out and were not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and friendly. as always. The tables were beautifully laid out ready for silver service. The menu was extensive without being overwhelming and there were additional...specials to consider too. The set menu is amazing value, the prices for individual dishes is exceptionally reasonable for the quality of food. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. A highlight of the evening is always the sweet trolley and we were not disappointed. It was a sight to behold with a full explanation of each dessert and of course the option to customise your choice. If you are looking for great food and excellent service you will not be disappointed with a visit to this gem!More

Yes at the back of the cottage but it’s small, probably only takes about 8 cars.

This is a restaurant not a pub, and I would say it is not child friendly in the evenings.
