Walked into the restaurant not expecting what to find. The food is excellent. Huge portions, especially the chicken and waffles and combination dishes. The BBQ beef was succulent and well seasoned. The warm cornbread was an excellent start.

The meal I order most often is the Shrimp and Grits while my wife likes the Blackened Catfish. Our most recent visit was at the invitation of friends and reservations were for 7 on a Friday night. We usually like to go for 5 because of how busy it gets at 7 but our friends couldn't do early because of... More

A very good place in downtown Hartford. We were here for Sunday brunch, and the atmosphere was great! We had a mixed barbecue platter: chicken wings and ribs were delicious, though I was not too big of a fan of their brisket. They had a great selection of craft beer. However, their Bloody Mary was just ok. We will probably... More

I went here with my boyfriend for lunch on a Saturday and had a great experience. The wait staff was pleasant and quick to address us and the interior was so much fun! There were cool decorations on the walls all blues related and the classic rock music playing was fitting. They had a bar with many beer and drink... More

Dinner was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was an artistic Jazz & Funk Lounge. Our dinner was absolutely the best soul food I've ever had. Seasoned to Perfection, I didn't mind the wait because it was worth it. will definitely come back again and bring friends!

I had wanted to try the place for awhile since reading about it in a few restaurant reviews in magazines and online. The meals my husband and I had were delicious and the cornbread was moist, not too sweet, with a nice texture. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. Portions were well sized for our appetites, and prices were... More

I did a takeout order and it was a great experience. Staff was very friendly and polite. They did have a slight problem with order. But the phone call fixed that. Will eat there again

We went to the restaurant because of it's proximity to our hotel (right next door) and the Bushnell Theater (a few blocks away), but we were happy to find great service and fanatstic food. On nights when there's a show, there's a slimmed-down menu (with plenty of choices) to ensure that you are "in and out" and don't have to... More
