My girlfriend and I stopped in Mystic after our "roadtrip" to Tree House Brewing. We were trying to think of somewhere new and different to visit on our way back home to PA. We settled on Mystic. We were lucky enough to find a parking space downtown and set out to explore. Visited a few places for a quick beer... More

It is one several places where the "locals" socialize in Mystic. It has a pool table and often musicians will often simply walk in to entertain. Everyone, first-timers or regulars, always seem to be welcome. It has a true pub atmosphere.

This is a small pub, a place for drinks, a game of pool, and some evenings entertainment. If the town gets snow and closes, you can always count on John's to be open and welcome you!

My wife and I stopped in here to grab a late dinner and discovered: 1.) They have chips but no food. 2.) John is a very Jolly bartender who is great to talk to. If you are looking for a place to relax with great company and have a drink I recommend John's.

It's a bar so if you are looking for a drink with friendly staff and to sit and have people talk with you this is the place. Find out where the locals eat, where they go, and what to do. If you want to bury your face in your cell phone and eat overpriced appetizers you have plenty of other... More

Great place during weekend days....The bartender will keep you laughing with Irish stories. Outdated with a pool table and music box on the wall but its part of the charm. Shots and Beers...nothing fancy. Well worth a visit after shopping and walking around the town.

I ducked in here during a rainy moment during the summer concert series hoping the musicians would resume. The beer was cold, the wooden tables ancient. I wish they could talk of the thousands whose elbows have been bent here. A real local place with cold beer.

My boyfriend and I were in Mystic at a hotel because we lost power during Hurricane Sandy. We walked all around town and found John's just near the water. Its a great location. For us, it was perfect. Great prices, "divey" and great service. The bartender(Bruce) was just back from Ireland and had loads of stories and funny jokes to... More

John's is a great local watering hole that features friendly staff and nice customers. My wife and I went here and had a great time last year. It is a bar with a good attitude. They like the sports there and there are some bar games available. It reminded me of my own local hangouts and we have the same... More
