Best grinders and olive salad around. The bread is amazing and quality cold cuts. Rainbow cookies are a nice treat too!

Although I've had numerous experiences with intense arguments between owner and staff during regular business hours, I haven't been able to find fresher bread or a more delicious grinder around. It can often be an uncomfortable situation to experience. I normally try to make my purchases from Voc's on West Side; however, to get the fresh breads, you pretty much... More

Now everyone knows it's all about the bread, which they make, only: salt water yeast flour, nothing else! But then there are the ingredients, high quality! Their olive salad is the best ever, Italian bread and rolls as well. Don't miss this place!!!

I have lived all over the states and Canada. Every time I came home for a visit, one of my first stops was Vocatura's for a genoa salami grinder. Now that I live here again, I enjoy them all the time. Crusty freshly baked rolls and quality ingredients make for the perfect taste treat. I will never get tired of... More

They make their grinders with their freshly made grinder rolls and they are awesome. Nothing like Voc's bread. My favorite is the tuna grinder.

I have been going to this place for decades and the food has always been good. Tonight I arrive to pick up my food and the owner was obviously angry with me. He told me I was late. I apologized, but he went on to tell me they were doing this for ten years. Well he should up date his... More

Vacatura's is famous for grinders, especially for their fresh baked bread - soft or little bricks. I like the ham in soft bread. They are also famous for fruit squares - lemon, raspberry, apple, and fig. My favorite is fig. Since I am from Georgia, I was a bit stunned by the abrupt way customers are treated. I am told... I recently read an article on the 10 best pizza places in Connecticut and Vocatura Barkery was on the list. Now I know Pizza is like religion and we all have a preference so I had my heart set for a nice thin crust, well favored sauce and overall simplicity. We did a grab and go, as there is no... More

Okay -- I'm from Minnesota where a good grinder is impossible to find so I tend to love the sandwiches on the east coast. Vocaturas grinders are among the best I've tried. The bread is chewy on the inside and crusty on the outside. They add meats, cheese, veggies, salt, pepper & oil for a taste bud tickling creation. You... More
