Great stop before or after Nature's Art. Very friendly service, straight forward New England clam shack menu. Order at the window, even if you plan on dining in the small attached seating area. Fried broccoli a must! Decent prices and quick service. Burgers, dogs, fries, clam strips all fresh and tasty. Limited parking. Gets quite busy in season.

It's hard to describe this. It is a roadside seafood, and hamburger joint where one orders outside at a large window, but they have a dining room. It doesn't look like much from the road, but it is well kept, and the dining room and rest rooms were very clean. Many people were ordering carryout. We ate inside. I had... More

David’s Place, on a secondary highway between Hartford and the CT shore, is a roadside restaurant with some surprises. It serves the obvious – hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings – and it does them very well. But it also serves a lot of seafood (clams, calamari, scallops, and lobster rolls), clam chowder, fried broccoli (better than it sounds),... More

We visit about once a summer on the way to Ocean Beach. Food is excellent, except the clam fritters. Terrible! We only wish the order would come out all together. Sometimes one person gets their food and is half done eating by the time other people get their food. But there is always a place to sit and the staff... More

My family and I were visiting Dinosaur Place and we decided to eat at David's right across the street, despite reading some of the reviews online. My kids had hot dogs, shakes, and hamburgers. My husband and I had the lamb gyro, onion rings and curly fries. Everything tasted great and the price was very reasonable. Usually eateries around attractions... More

David's place was a great little spot to stop by before going home. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is good as well. I ordered scallops and my boyfriend ordered fish and chips and they were both great. After we had ice cream and it was really good too. If you like little mom and pop, off the... More

I wish I read previous reviews before eating, here. I had fish & chips / a shake. Fish was okay. Chips (fries) were caked with specs of batter or something. Maybe fried in same fryer as the fish. I don't know. But, makes me wonder if the owner would even like his fries. Or doesn't care. As for the shake,... More

But David's Place is not a restaurant near an attraction. It is an attraction by itself. Located opposite Nature's Art Village, I visited this place because my family was famished after a day at the dinosaur park. And what a visit it was! The fish and chips were cooked just right, clam strips were on the right side of salty... More

David's is a regular spot for hamburgers or an excellent fish sandwich. They make their own onion rings and French fries. There is good quality ice cream. Plenty of outside eating on picnic tables and some limited indoor seating. David's is a seasonal restaurant.

Recent trip ended in disappointment when found out fries are no longer the thin, fresh French fries which made the trip worthwhile. Burgers are preformed dry patties. Used to make special trip from Hartford area. Sorry to see end of an era!
