My spouse and I have been coming here for years. After a 1 year haiatus we returned last weekend. Still a great menu, well prepared, and promptly served. The staff have changed, as I understand has the owner, but the breakfast options are still great and hard to beat. (I don't easily give 5 stars!)

I ate here twice during my overnight stay at the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa. At first, it seemed like an old diner, but boy was I wrong. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly. They even gave me the recipe for the smoothie that I ordered. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Met a friend for lunch. What I love about the Paperback Cafe is that I can order breakfast or lunch. The last time I was here, I got a delicious omelet. This time I had a yummy salad with both grilled portobello mushroom slices and chicken. The sandwich selections are great too.

We popped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast and the menu was large and catered to all dietary needs. Lots of healthy options and gluten free selections.

Since I have to be careful what I eat now, I really look over the menus at restaurants to see what can be made gluten free. It makes the choices easier, when the restaurant has gluten free bread. I ordered the Reuben on gluten free bread and it was delicious!

I like this place! Good service, fine food. You can get standards but they also offer a few more unusual meals. Worth exploring and based on the crowd, locals love this place.

Enjoyed our breakfast, received quick, friendly service. We were greeted upon entry and served our coffee promptly. One of the specials was a kielbasa egg scramble, which my husband tried and really enjoyed. It smelled so good that I tried a bite - very good. I ordered a short stack of pancakes( 2 large ones). They were pretty decent pancakes.... More

landed in Old Saybrook an hour and a half early for the wedding.Stopped at the Paperback Cafe for lunch and were so glad that we did! The food was delicious, the staff very pleasant and the overall ambience just what we were looking for. I was impressed that my sandwich came with carrot sticks and a dip as opposed to... More
