Food is very good and excellent service. If you want extra spicey just tell them. My dish was spicey but could have been a bit more spicey. Older building with cozy atmosphere.

We moved to Old Saybrook from the Hartford area last summer, we were more than thrilled that we could get Vietnamese on the shoreline! We have made several visits but after the initial first visit a year ago which was good not excellent we continue to be disappointed in the food quality and preparation. I do love the Vietnamese salad... More

Saigon City serves decent Asian food in an incongruous setting: it's in a 200 + year old Colonial house in Old Saybrook. But the food is tasty (if just a tiny bit Westernized and bland) and the service is friendly and warm.

The place looks a little strange with a wood cabin feel, but the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable.

Three of us had lunch here and sat in front of the fireplace. Service was excellent. We had the Pho (noodle) Soup, Pad Thai, and Spicy Chicken Curry. We've eaten at plenty of Thai/Vietanemese restaurants and the food here was at the top of the list. Lunch price of $9.99/each we thought was excellent. Will definitely be returning. I asked... More

Took a chance and stopped here for lunch while we were out and about. We had a good lunch of noodle soup. The service was very friendly with the owner stopping to chat. Would recommend this for a change for lunch.

The inside was clean and the service was speedy. The food was good. I thought the apps were expensive for the small amount you get. The inside looks like a house that was converted. I asked for spicy and my food didn't come out that way. The flavoring was good but would have been better if it was spicier.

Was so disappointed in our family dinner there last night. Food was very average tasting, service slow, and bathrooms dirty! Can only imagine what the kitchen looked like! I am not sure if they have different owners but this was not the food we once savored at Saigon City!

In a charming old home on the Post Road in Old Saybrook, the Vietnamese food is delicious . Since Thai is available elsewhere I'd like to see more Vietnamese food on the menu although the Thai is very good. Try the Shaking Beef!

My parents had always loved it here and had not been in several years. We went recently and the food was heavily fried and all looked the same except for the shape. The overall quality of the food was just not good. The service was pleasant and we really wanted to like it, but the food was pretty bad.
