This restaurant has some of the best, freshest-tasting sushi I have ever eaten. The presentation is always appealing, and the flavors are subtle and complex. Reasonable prices, too. We eat here (to-go) about twice a month and rarely have a problem. The wonton soup is excellent, as are the steamed dumplings. Eating in the restaurant itself gives the chef a... More

We often order takeout, but this night we took the family of 4. My daughter had a very specific request and the cook accommodated easily and it, along with ask of our meals were delicious. Fresh and tasty

By my standards every locale has a Chinese/Oriental thousand item menu all frozen and sub par.. Zhang's does not. We all have dined here at least 12 times in the last two months and have been absolutely impressed by the staff, servers and great food. From the raw sushi to the dumplings to eel sauce(which is not eel) to General... More

After returning to the Connecticut shoreline after 13 years in Hong Kong and Shanghai, we've tried a few Chinese restaurants in the region in hopes of finding something remotely authentic. This is the worst thus far. The eggplant with garlic sauce was tasteless and had red and green bell peppers in it which is the first time I've encounter this.... More

Ate here very recently, which is probably about my fifth time..... Both take out and dining in. I have only eaten at the Old Saybrook location. Every time I have found the food and service quite good. I don't have any complaints and will definitely eat here again. They have a $5 off coupon on their website

We wanted sushi in the Saybrook area and happened to find this place. It is in a plaza next to the train station. The place was clean and the staff were very friendly. Our server, Sam, was great. He brought our beers right away. The crab rangoon was one of the best I have had yet to date. Very light... More

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner last night. She had the House Lo Mein and I had the House Pad Thai. Both were very good and the portions were more than ample. We eat at a first class Chinese restaurant at home so we know good from modest. Zhang's is good. The server was delightful which added to... More

Expensive for what it is and having lived in the area most of my life have some good and bad experiences. Definitely have been rushed out 45 minutes before closing... Yeah, seriously- kinda rude. Also have had some good sushi. Very pricey for what it is and there is both Sushi of the same quality for far less and Chinese... More

Chinese food and sushi too! The miso soup is excellent. One of us had spicy salmon roll sushi, one General Tso's Chicken (a little sweet) and one just the edmame and steamed vegetables. All of us were happy. Both the Chinese and Japanese menus are quite extensive. Something for everyone! Service was a little slow, but friendly. Located in a... More
