Stopped by with the grandkids for a little treat on theway back to the house. Had bingo and prizes going and the treats were delicious. Would definitely stop again.

If you are an old fashioned ice cream parlor fan- then Mel's is a can't miss if you find yourself in Westerly or Pawcatuck! They have so many great flavors it's hard to choose- so why not go for the ten scoop Big Kahuna and get your photo on the wall! Worked for Ed Sheran and Taylor Swift Enjoy this... More

living in the area, we have tried many of the ice cream shoppes, but have hands down found Mel's to be the best. Cowabunga Crunch and Moosetracks are our favorites. We always get a kick when someone orders a Big Cahuna- 8 scoops of ice cream, a brownie, a banana, sprinkles and whipped cream- it's a killer dish, serves 4... More

Stopped here after dinner based on a recommendation- we should have skipped dinner! So many interesting and standard flavors, I wanted to try them all! I went for a seasonal special, S'more Lovin', and it was amazing. The shop is cute and service is friendly and helpful. I wish we were staying in the area longer so I could try... More

Stopped for an ice cream after dinner. Everyone liked the 50's diner look with Beach Boys music for summer near the beaches. Seemed really friendly and a local institution. Like the employees knew some of the customers and had a fun banter with each other like maybe they went to school together. Nice stop on a summer evening. Everyone liked... More

Mel's is always a good spot downtown for some ice cream. Stroll by the river with a cone. Try the big Kahuna if you dare and have a bib handy.

We go to Mel's often in the summer. They have a Great staff and the best ice cream cake in the area! And they're open even during the winter months too.

After walking around Westerly in the rain for a few hours we were looking for a warm dry spot to have a hot drink. We stumbled into Mel's and hit the jackpot. Mel was a welcoming hostess as she made our hot chocolates and topped them with homemade whipped cream. The drink was hot and very chocolaty, just what we... More
