My wife & I made the trip to Simsbury CT. from Long Island solely to dine at Millwright's as the reviews were excellent. Happily, we were not disappointed! This is a first class, Michelin star worthy restaurant that is well worth the trip from anywhere you live (they have won James Beard runner up awards). The restaurant itself is beautiful.... More

Dining at a restaurant we thought appropriate for an anniversary celebration, we chose Millwright's. WOW!!! Short of traveling overseas or to a major metro area of the U. S., we could not have chosen more wisely. The food was unbelievably delicious and prepared to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION, while service, ambience, and presentation were beyond reproach. Our waiter, Ron, was the VERY... More

we met a couple here- each coming from 90 minutes away - as it was half way for each of us. It was worth it. The facility is an historic mill overlooking a river with a small waterfall. We had a mushroom soup , fresh oysters and salad to start. Entrees were a venison chop plus venison meatball ( vey... More

My mother, sister, and wife enjoyed a marvelous meal at Millwright restaurant. The ambience was fantastic with our table adjacent to the window overlooking the Falls below. At least the food was fantastic. However, the service and other arrangements fell far short of expectations. We arrived at the appointed time, Very early, with almost all tables empty. We were kept... More

We have been to the upstairs, more formal, dining room. This was our first experience in the Tavern located on the lower level. The menu is extensive and you can have some items that are offered upstairs. Farm Greens and Kale Caesar salads were great. Cheeseboard could have been a little more generous. Order the biscuits, they are to die... More

Millwright Restaurant is one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The entire wait staff treated us as if we were VIPs, and we were visited right at our table by our chef, Niles. Our primary waiter Ron, saw to our every need, and I actually cannot recall having to request anything. It was as if he read... More

The chef can take a simple food and make it fantastic That day he had taken fresh corn and make a soup to die for. He takes butter and adds honey and sesame seeds. Makes johhnycakes that are fantastic. Ever have barbequed carrotts. Like I said he can take any simple food and make it marvelous

This is a cozy little spot that features an ever-changing selection of wines and beers plus delicious pub food. There is a fireplace in the cooler weather. Some seating allows waterfall views. I like that it is quiet enough to have a conversation. The staff is very friendly, pleasant and able to speak knowledgably about all the offerings.

A table by the big windows on Christmas Eve provided a beautiful view of the water mill and waterfall. The service was spot on, very attentive but not intrusive. They have a nice selection of wine by the glass and will even let you taste a little before committing to a wine choice. My wife is a plain eater and... More

This year I returned to Millwrights for our pre-holiday food fest and we were not disappointed. Many restaurants stay the course too well and actually trend down. Not this fine eatery. As usual the menu selections are always changing which keeps you interested in trying something new. This night we selected quail and venison main courses both were tasty and... More
