I didn't expect to have such a pleasant experience at this cafe when we arrived. They have a great menu for breakfast and lunch. I wanted to try everything that they had on their pastry and bread menu. It all just looked so appetizing. The giant pretzels are quite impressive. They have a good selection of tea and coffee an... They serve up Stumptown Coffee Roasters coffee here and I'm a huge fan. We come to CT 2-3 times per year and I always hit up this bakery. They have seating. The food is sourced with local ingredients. Staff is friendly also.

In a previous review, when I commented on the poor quality of their pastries, I also commented on how excellent the breads were. I was at a function recently where their round Italian bread was served and for me, it was the highlight of the dinner. We took home a loaf, which was portioned out and enjoyed toasted with butter... We stop by Hartford Baking by Company every Sunday after our workout at WIP! We have coffee, treats and catch up! It's our HH! Great service and friendly staff! Can get a bit crowded though! Popular Sunday morning place!

I stopped by the Hartford Baking Company to treat myself to a few pastries. While I've enjoyed their delicious bread many times, the pastries I tried fell far short of the mark. The pecan sticky bun was covered in an excessively-sweet, over spiced syrup that overpowered the flavor of the yeast bread and pecans. I also had an almond financier,... More

The breakfast are all extremely fresh and very tasty. The croustades are especially popular with our group, but no matter how much we get, it all gets eaten

This place has been a favorite for years. They recently turned over their entire staff and it just isn't the same however.

We we're looking for a new place for a late breakfast while shopping and found it on New Park Ave. The oatmeal and specialty grilled cheese were scrumptious and we lingered over our large hot teas. The homemade breads looked fabulous - need to go back to pick up a loaf (or two!).

Great spot for high quality and a snack. Baked goods or hearty sandwiches make a delicious meal. Good seating for catching up with friends.

The bread is great; the problem is that they run out so quickly that you need to get there early in the day in order to get your favorite bread. The cinnamon rolls are made with brioche dough (which is made with butter) so it does taste different than your usual Cinnabon cinnamon roll. The other pastries aren't your run... More
