You take a drive on a small (4 People) gondel up to this restaurant. It is beautifully furnished! The owner speaks also german. His wife Daniela speaks fluent german. We had cold cut which means Roastbeef. Aside a small salade. They have also small rooms...if you decide to stay.More
My family and me have been at Sass Malt several times, the location is wonderful, the environment as well. It would be a perfect place to enjoy a local wine or a traditional dish surrounded by the Alps. Unfortunately we had to face the terrible...organization of the personnel and the arrogance of the restaurant manager: typically long waiting time, strange rules (like "you cannot sit outside because it's already prepared for the lunch time..." at 10 AM) and in particular he cannot suffer children. A real pity!More
The view is unbeatable and decor is beautiful. The food was great, by far the best you can get in Val di Blenio. It's probably one of the best restaurants in Ticino, certainly worth the ride (you can take the filovia, which is expensive, drive,...or walk).More
Sass Malt is a charismatic, welcoming, contemporary refuge in the Swiss Alps. The new owners stepped away from the dusty and shabby type of huts that unfortunately are still to be found in some places. At 1’400 m.a.s.l. they have created a homely, charming restaurant...with stunning views over the mountains. Not pretentious at all, Sass Malt makes you feel at home and makes you want to stay. Personal pieces of furniture mixed with Alpine style details have generated an incredible positive synergy. You can enjoy fine dining with a regional bottle of merlot wine, as well as a more energetic meal with fresh water directly form the mountain source. You can reach the venue hiking or taking a spectacular cable car, 8 minutes of pure adrenaline that takes you from the parking in Malvaglia to the top: more than 1’000 m altitude difference. How exiting is that! If you visit the Blenio Valley, do schedule a meal at Sass Malt.More
