Very nice restaurant. A little different than most buffets that I have been to because it is not an all inclusive, all you can eat concept. Drinks and dessert are not included in the base price and you are only allowed one entrée choice. However, the entrée was a very generous portion, the salad bar was great and there was... More

The food is okay, but the atmosphere is rather drab. It's run of the mill food... not bad, but certainly nothing to get excited about. I had a chicken pita sandwich, and it was a bit on the wee side. If you like to have an adventurous meal, this is not your venue.

I loved the Holiday House! We ate there at least 2 times per week and all Holidays! It is now called Cooks Café. It is just not the same. The salad bar is sloppy looking, drippings everywhere, even on the floor. The hot bar is a bit more neat. The taste of the food is just okay. The staff is... More

Cooks Cafe has some of the best soups and sandwiches in town. Some people LOVE their french fries, but NOT me. I think everything is great EXCEPT the fries. My favorites are all of the soups, the Ruben, and dessert. This is the little Cooks Cafe hidden inside a larger building, NOT the Cooks just North of Stetson. I have... More

Diverse menu so lots of choices, but just average taste and quality. No real atmosphere, just a bar with a restaurant on the side.

A little on the pricey side for being right next to a college, the food was pretty bland but the service was spot on. Their salad bar could use a few more choices, and calling it a buffet and only getting one selection of meat (you have to pay if you want another) is not what I would call a... More

Cook's Cafe is conveniently located and offers a wide selection of food. The staff is very polite and helpful, and the food is very good. We'll definitely eat there again when we're in the area.

Fresh fruit was fruit cocktail. The hamburger was not tastey. It's cafe style and the people were not overly friendly.

Description
A small but tasty cafe tucked inside the mainstreet building downtown Deland. Started in 1983. Fresh, cooked to order burgers, sandwiches and fresh salads. Homemade soups and bread bowls. Homemade desserts to die for. Low price but big in quality.
