Excellent but very slow wait staff (probably understaffed); food was unremarkable but acceptable. Location on the Campobello campus makes this a convenient stop.

Visiting Roosevelt International Park and this was the only restaurant we could find open. Inviting view from our table. Specials, beverages and desserts on large chalkboard on wall. Knowing this isn't a "foodie" stop, we played it safe and both ordered a cup of soup...and 1/2 sandwich. It was a hit! The tomato bisque was very tasty and enhanced with the mozzarella cheese and multigrain croutons. The ham and cheese sandwich was super fresh. I would skip dessert next time as my raspberry cobbler, while full of flavor, was like soup and didn't look appetizing.More

Stopped for a late lunch while visiting the island. Soups were very good, but we both had a ham and cheese sandwich. Unfortunately we were not offered any condiments for the sandwich. Also took a very long time to get a couple of coffees to...go. Not sure the girl knew what she was doing. I still would make a stop there again.More

We stopped by for lunch while touring the historic grounds. The lunch offerings were limited, and the service was mixed. But our lunches were good and were reasonably priced. The tomato bisque was quite good on a rainy day, and the chicken pesto panini was...good. They also have a limited selection of local beers. The wait stuff appeared to be inexperienced, and they would benefit from a more-friendly approach.More

We arrived at 2:00 p.m. - no lobster stew available. Okay, we'll have the fish chowder with two biscuits then. The fish chowder arrives without the biscuits. No offer to substitute something for the biscuits or reduce the price. Nothing was said and when I...asked, the reply was: "We wont have the biscuits until later." As the previous viewer noted, the service was very slow despite there being no one else in the restaurant. I'm giving this three stars because we would eat there again, despite the indifferent attitude about providing a high quality dining experience.More

We visited the Prince Cafe this afternoon and were fairly disappointed with our experience. At the visitor center we were told there would be a kids menu but apparently they discontinued it a week or so ago. We were able to get grilled cheese sandwiches...so that wasn't too bad. The service was very slow despite hardly any customers being there (although friendly enough). The food was ok but nothing special. The side of veggies that came with the pan fried haddock was a cup of frozen mixed peas, carrots and corn. The latte was luke warm. The cobbler was more like raspberry soup. I was expecting something better so disappointed over all.More

There is just enough to do at the park to get you ready for lunch - so since we read that there were limited food options on Campobello, we stopped here before heading out to tour the rest of the island. We are very conscious...about eating outdoors and so we’re disappointed when all the porch tables were full when we arrived. We sat inside with our masks on and ordered, then noticed some activity outside so went up to ask if a table was free, and fortunately, one had opened up so we moved out there. It seemed like the waitstaff were possibly a little short-staffed, but we were served in a timely manner. The poppyseed salad with grilled chicken was great and a generous portion. Paninis were good as was the BLT. There is a chalkboard with dessert specials and someone else ordered coffee to go while we were there. Although it would have a view of the water, it seemed like there might have been room on the opposite side of the porch by the driveway entrance for more outside tables.More

We have eaten here almost every day for more than a week. The food has been excellent as is the service. Grace was our waitress for three meals and she excelled. The other waitresses were excellent too. This is a beautiful spot looking at the...ocean and the Lubec Channel. The fish chowder is a very substantial bowl for $15, Canadian of course. They make paninis and wonderful salads and serve beer, wine and other alcohol. I also had lobster on a croissant which was also substantial and tasty. They are open seven days from 8-5. They have some breakfast items too. There are two other restaurants on the island. Both have views of the ocean. You will enjoy everything they have.More

We were looking for breakfast and were supposed to eat at the Porch. Unfortunately (for them!) they were closed so we came up to The Prince Cafe. As it was early, the staff were busy in a meeting, but quickly accomodated our needs for early...morning nutrition! The service was so good, we returned for lunch!! Everything was first class and the service second-to-none! Recommended.More

Best Corn chowder and biscuits I have ever had! Great little cafe in the historical park. Go for breakfast, before you explore, then return for lunch. Food all tastes like great home cooking.

Much of the food is homemade. Service is pleasant friendly and attentive. Could be a bit faster though as we were on a three hour van tour and wanted to spend more time in the Roosevelt Cottage.

We were visiting with our daughter and family. They were very accommodating to our grandkids, aged 3 and 5. We each ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meals. Fresh sandwiches and salads. Friendly staff. Delicious food! Limited menu but enough options to suit everyone.

The closed sign was up near the FDR Cottage parking lot but we decided to chance it. There’s more parking near the Prince Cottage and the restaurant was open. It’s more like a cafeteria than a restaurant with daily options listed both on a placard...in front of a food cart and on a wall mounted chalkboard. There are soups, sandwiches and salads available. I got a seasonal salad and asked them to add a scoop of the chicken salad to it instead of a piece of grilled chicken. It was outstanding! The salad ingredients were all fresh and the chicken salad was outstanding! We chose a table inside and had a great view of the water. It’s a great addition to the FDR Park.More

I could not agree more with the previous reviewer. There should be a person there as a cashier checking people out. Having staff do double duty must be stressful for them, and time-consuming for those waiting to check out... More
