Great welcome and comfortable seats. Everything you would expect from an American cafe/diner. Pizza worth the money, gator pieces lovely and seasoned well. Prompt service. Worth visiting.

It was not very appealing from the outside, so we thought we'd just get a cup of coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by the airy, clean, eclectic atmosphere. We had a typical diner breakfast, and it was fine in a greasy diner way. Nice strong coffee, and friendly service.

We had the Gator Burger and a Cheeseburger. Both were very very good and well worth the money. Ice cold coke to wash it down with made it very refreshing on a hot day. The menu is extensive with lots to choose from. Service was a little slow to start but we did arrive and there was not many spare... More

This was the only place in town open for a cup of coffee at 0730 in the morning. My coffee pot broke so we stopped here and received a friendly cup of coffee to go. Very nice people.

Followed up our trip on Speedy's Airboat tours with a Shrimp PO Boy at the Island Cafe. Good food, good prices, and great service!

Service was immediate. We were barely seated when we were asked if we wished to order a drink. The wine list is pretty meager (cabernet and chardonnay), and no interesting beers either. I had a chicken bacon wrap, which was good enough to take half back to our hotel fridge, which I ate the next evening. Fries were also very... More

Basic American breakfast with good coffee, friendly service and good straight up food. Lots of seating. Fast service. I had the western omelette which was above average - I eat a lot of breakfasts out and am fussy about my omelet. This had lots of veggies. Next time I'd ask them To put the cheese inside instead of on top.... More

After a morning of wildlife viewing, I stopped at Island Cafe for a quick bite to eat. The place was totally packed with both tourists and locals, but my waitress was ready to help me make a decision from the menu. Being a native of the desert part of Texas, I am still learning my way around the maze of... More

We stayed in Everglades City as a family of 4. We needed a proper American diner breakfast and the Island cafe delivered that dream we see on television back home. Our waitress was delightful and patient. The food was fresh and yummy. The coffee came in mugs and always seemed full. High standards in all ways and good value.
