Fabulous meal. We eat here every time we're in Fort Lauderdale. The ambience is amazing, service is always great and we love the food.
Fun restaurant. Must go for happy hour. They have a great happy hour. I hear Thursdays is ladies night. We showed up and there was a long line on a Friday night, but we ended up getting a spot at the bar. They have an...inside and an outside bar. The outside bar is super nice. Very Florida like right by the pier. The outside patio has a small lounge area with couches and a fire going. Food: I only tried two items off their happy hour menu. We all said that the tuna tacos were to die for. Definitely would go back just for the tuna tacos. I also had the spicy hummus. It was good. It wasn’t really spicy. it came with olive feta tapenade as well. Definitely a great happy hour snack. The mojitos were perfect We were staying nearby, so we walked to the restaurant, but I did notice that there was a lot of parking available on site. It is shared with the other businesses. All the staff members I interacted with were super nice even though they were super busy. Great ambience. Don’t miss this spot when you visit Fort Lauderdale.More
This place is very busy no matter what night of the week it is. Be sure to get reservations early! I can't complain about the food at all- had the Bimini Bread and the shrimp scampi. The Shrimp were so very fresh tasting! My server...was good overall-- I do understand a solo diner isn't going to get the same service as the large tables that were present. I did get a dessert to take back to my hotel and it was amazing!More
Visiting Fort Lauderdale for just one night before our cruise we wanted to pick a seafood restaurant with ambience and of course great food. We accomplished both. We checked out reviews like this and decided we’d try our luck. Weather was perfect for sitting outside...so we waited a little extra time for an outdoor table. It was well worth it. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations and his service was spot on! We may visit Fort Lauderdale again for a longer stay and we’ll definitely visit Boatyard again!!More
I am writing in regard to my recent dining experience on Saturday, January 27, 2024. I hadn’t dined in recent years but remembered it to be a lovely restaurant with delicious food- which is why I made a reservation. I was there with my family...celebrating my mother’s birthday and want to share some insight. We were a party of 5 seated at the high top, which was what I reserved. The hostess provided us brunch menus- which our server immediately switched. Our server offered beverages and we decided on a bottle of Simi Cabernet and a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Our server never informed us of any specials for the evening. In previous dining experiences, I always remembered a seafood cart that would come to your table. I don’t know if that is still an offering but it wasn’t offered. We ordered two appetizers- ceviche and mussels and frits. The ceviche was the best dish we had all evening but wasn’t anything spectacular. The mussels served with frits were just okay. The frits on top were soggy and quite frankly a poor choice in French fry to serve with the hundreds of varieties to select from. I’m not sure if the appetizer was dying in the expo window- but when it reached our table the fries were awful. When our entrees arrived, our appetizer plates covered with mussel shells had not been cleared. We had to move all of our dishes to the end of the table to be cleared when the food runners had an available hand. New cutlery had to be asked for and it wasn’t a seamless transition from appetizers to entrées. We only received 4 out of the 5 entrees when they were delivered. We waited for the parmesan cod which ended up being lukewarm. It didn’t make sense. I would have thought it would have been hot being it was the last dish to arrive to the table. The food quality and taste were very underwhelming and certainly not what I remember from previous years. Every entrée was BLAND and missed the mark. From the lobster ravioli which looked like a child’s portion to the grouper picatta which had minimal sauce and no taste. The paella was soupy sitting in liquid and the parmesan cod was lukewarm and once again bland. Water was never refilled throughout our dining experience and a second glass of sauvignon blanc was never offered either. Earlier in the evening, it was mentioned to our server we were celebrating our mother’s birthday. While our server did bring out a complimentary chocolate cake with a sparkler, we were never offered dessert, coffee, or tea. We were very surprised and didn’t even bother to ask. At that point in the evening, we wanted to leave. While we enjoyed the ambiance and the company of being together as a family, the meal and service were subpar. I hope this feedback is helpful so proper adjustments can be made to your menu and the quality of food.More
This is our second time at the restaurant and both visits were excellent. Fresh seafood with great service and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great place for a special occasion
not even Sub Par. for those prices not worth the trip. we both had fish, snapper and trout, they were so small. for the price of fillet snapper, a joke. can get a whole snapper at that price and enough to feed 2 at local...restaurant. and the sides option... really. such a waste of my time and money. this is why I stay home and cook.More
Over rated ! Left the restaurant with a soar throat as a result of my screaming the whole time. It is very , very loud ! Food is below average. I ordered Lobster ravioli—not much lobster , mostly dough. Definitely not worth the wait time....Go somewhere else for dinner .More
I am a crabby old man. I have probably given 60 to 80 reviews. I have only given probably 5 -5 stars .Ididn’t like where they sat me. I complained as old men do,to Stephanie my waitress, and she gave me a better table with...a smile. I had the Seabass special, and my wife had the salmon salad. We also had the bread with honey butter and I had a Manhattan . It was by far the best meal I’ve had here in Fort Lauderdale with the best service from Stephanie. I have eaten all over the country and many parts of the world. It was spectacular. Total bill with 25% tip $130 cheap for the quality I received. I’m kind of shocked.More
The ambiance was wonderful. The service was spectacular. The shrimp scampi and lobster were delicious. The watermelon jalapeño martini was the best!
We went here for dinner tonight with the couple we are cruising with. Excellent food and excellent service. Very nice restaurant. Very close to our hotel.
Went out for drinks with friends recently. Everyone of our drinks watered down, overpticed, and with a lot of snotty attitude ( ya listening Pat*o P.?). I live locally but they treat everyone like tourists. Hadn't been there since just before pandemic, and wouldn't go...back for quite a whileMore
I have been to this place a few times but missed happy hour this time, which is great! That said non happy hour does not disappoint. food was really great and generous portions, which is very refreshing. No ripping you off with fancy names and...small servings. Appies are large and excellent. Thank you boatyard for not following trend of small and $$$$ We sat patio bar with Jonathan serving. At first I thought, this guy is too subdued to be a good barman, but he turned out to be really great as I got used to his slower, quieter approach.. excellent guy with Hipster bike helmet! Thanks Jona and Boatyard. We shall return.More
This is hard to write because we have always loved The Boatyard and tonight the food was exceptional as always. However the service was sub-par. We have always gotten excellent service but tonight we were clearly an after thought for our waitress. Sh started out...getting orders quickly and as the meal wore on she quickly disappeared. I understand staffing shortage however when we asked to take our food home there were boxes and a bag thrown on the table and others around us got the traditional service of their food boxed for them. Now, I’m capable of packing my food but why treat us differently and the ghost is until time for the check. Very disappointed considering the priceMore
Hi! Thanks for writing about your dinner with us and for your positive review on the food, we apologize that the service was not what we want every guest to experience and it is unacceptable. I've shared this with our owners and management so we...More
