My husband and I were staying at the Holiday Inn - within walking distance of Waxy O'Connor. We were leaving for a cruise the next day . Our hotel clerk suggested the restaurant . She was spot on !!!! The place reminded me of an authentic Irish pub - the interior was very comfortable and cozy , a soccer game... More

From the menu to the atmosphere, you can feel the luck o' the Irish. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Provided great recommendations. We watched their interactions with their regulars- seemed like a big family. Don't miss out.....eat & drink here!

Excellent menu; quality Irish food and service!! It is across the street from Embassy Suites---walking distance. It has a much better menu and prices than the hotel.

Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub is the kind of establishment I would be a regular at if I lived in the area, and who knew they were a small chain of 10, mostly in New England with 2 more on the way. The atmosphere is outstanding with a true European feel with dark wood, attractive bar and unique seating layout that... More

We stop for a bite and a beer. There's a good selection of domestic and imported beers. An adequate food menu with typical pub items. I had the fish & chips. It was a large size serving with great cole slaw. My wife had a Reuben sandwich which was OK. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere friendly. We ate indoors, but... More

Can't complain, the beer was cold and the wifi was free. What more do you want on a warm Florida afternoon.

having experienced several real Irish pubs, we enjoy visiting Waxy O'Connor's when we're in Ft. Lauderdale. Guinness on tap--need I say more? They also serve interesting versions of *pub grub* in a cozy atmosphere. Food is good, staff is friendly and helpful. Can't ask for much more. Oh, and the Guinness :)

Neat Irish pub ambiance. Outside tables under cover, overlooking the highway, available. Free parking in a lot. Friendly atmosphere. I sat indoors near the bar. I ordered the lamb shepherd's pie, a new one on me. It was very tasty. I'd get it again. The meal didn't come with rolls or bread. At $13 before tax and tip, this entrée... More

Looks just as an old Irish pub in Cork. Good beer selection from the tap and they have Guinness. We did not eat, but they appear to have good pub food. The waiter was friendly. We went back several times during our stay.

Waxy's is absolutely legit Irish grub served by Irish staff...well, some of them are. Service is great and the atmosphere is reminiscent of a true Irish pub. I felt like I was back in Cork (Sorry, that's the only part of Ireland I've been to...and I may have spelled that incorrectly). They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were going... More
